Less than 12 weeks pregnant club! 2

Kitten, I think my doctor is one of the most sympathetic! I am hoping I can persuade the MW when I see her next Weds. I am having an early booking-in appointment so they're letting me do that at least, usually you have to wait till 9 weeks here.
My mum would pay for scans but the thing is the research shows it is TLC that helps, not so much scans, so what i really want is to see someone weekly so I feel reassured.
The MW did say on the phone 'I won;t try and listen to the heartbeat until at least 15 weeks because if I can;t find it you will paanic' and I thought 'no I won't! I know it's hard to find it.' She could at least try! She is new though, she was training when I went for my last booking.
I have a home doppler and a friend has one of the expensive ones the MWs use so I will try and borrow that and listen as early as I can.
I just wish there were some proper NICe guidelines on care of pregnant women after recurrent miscarriage. Surely they can understand how scary this is for me? DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

skintchick, I don't know of any guidelines, but I am being seen monthly at the moment with scans and midwife appointments. They also didn't see me until 12 weeks for either although I do think I could have bullied them into it if I had wished.
Hopefully your midwife will be a little more sympathetic at your booking appointment and the doppler will reassure you a little.
I agree that you know how you will react. I didn't want to try to hear the heartbeat until I knew it should be found (16 weeks) because I knew I would panic. Surely by listening to patients they can make individual decisions.Overdraft = £1000 Emergency fund = £2500

For those who don't know me, my history is I had a mc, then my DD, then have had three mcs since then, and am now Pg again, so a bit nervous and struggling to get any decent care out of my GP or MW.
GP has refused prescription of 5g folic acid which I understand can help after mc, and MW is saying she is too busy to see me weekly, despite research showing that regular TLC care drastically improves the live birth rate.
So I feel a bit up against it right now and 13 weeks feels a very long way away.
I'd love to get some early scans but we can;t afford private ones and so far GP and MW are not sympathetic.
Anyway, that's me, so hello
Congratulations Skintchick, I am so happy to see you on this thread! (though I shouldn't really be here anymore:D)0 -
Hi Skintchick, and congratulations
There are guidelines on care for women after early pregnancy loss, on the RCOG website - found here: http://www.rcog.org.uk/womens-health/clinical-guidance/management-early-pregnancy-loss-green-top-25 These are the guidelines my consultant was working to after my three losses.
I understood that the TLC aspect of it did include early scans (I was scanned at 5, 7 and 9 weeks) but there is an element of handholding with that anyway.
Hello to all the newbies, I hope your pregnancies are uneventful0 -
Congratulations Skintchick, so pleased to see you over here
will keep everything crossed for you. Hope you manage to get some help from the GP/midwives.

morning all.. Welcome fishingcinema and skintchick and congrats to you both. :j such a shame that you are having issues with the doc and mw.
sarara how come you managed to get three early scans? i only had mine at 6 and then at the epu they said to come back if in any pain, or get bleeding. i would love to go and get weekly scans is i could, but they probably call me mad and send me home, so am just waiting. looking forward to sunday and then seeing when scan is, and to be honest, i am going to be nervous thinking about the scan.. its already causing butterflies in my belly now.
sometimes does anyone get a slight pain, like when you have a normal tummy ache (for example after eating something dodgy?). i just a few slight ones but they dont last long. still feel nauseous.and when i cough sometimes it hurts.

Rups, I get pain when I cough/sneeze, which is due to ligaments stretching it's very normal. Started about 8-9 weeks and is getting more common. I sneezed in the office last week and I wasn't expecting it so didn't tense everything up and ended up shouting OW! 3 blokes came running to see if I was ok, asking if I'd gone into labour! I'm only 15 weeks! :rotfl:Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
awwh bless you. yes i feel that ow at times, especially during the night when i just cough and am not prepared so it hurts. was just thinking that it must get so much harder for pregnant women to cope in the summer especially being on public transport. i hope i dont faint or anything.
ohhh impatient to see that everything is ok inside me still. :0(Became Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!
