Jenjen - Sa-ra-ra-ra is right; you are very unlikely to get an early scan in your circumstances. You could try calling your GP to find out when you are likely to get your scan date through; I was lucky enough to get in and see my midwife when I was five weeks and my scan appt came through about two days later (for bang on 12 weeks) but if your midwife appt is not until the 12th June I can understand why you would feel anxious. Your Dr will have worked out that you are about 9 weeks from the start date of your last period - until you have the 12 week scan you won't know for sure how far along you are. The symptoms that you have described are things that I went through at five/six weeks but everyone is different so my advice is don't try and gauge how far gone you are by what you are experiencing at the moment!
When I did have my 12 week scan I was elated for the whole of that day, but a couple of days afterwards I felt depressed and worried again. Not trying to put a downer on things, but Sa-ra-ra-ra pointed out that this does quite often happen and I can vouch for that!
All you can do is try to relax and enjoy your pregnancy. If you worry and stress too much this will do you no good. Congratulations and best of luck.0 -
eww hate needles so much. i once donated blood and never again because weirdly i felt faint and then i had realised that i had come on at the same time, and i was sick.
i didnt even get tea and biscuits.
shame
does anyone watch wildlife programs? I love them and am currently watching Planet earth live during my lunch break. Being Kenyan as well adds to the fact that I absolutelt adore animals, especially big cats. Iam watching the series, and i cant help getting upset, as its very realistic and shows how mums look after their little ones, and its so sad because some of them dont make it. am crying like a loonatic at home.Became Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

I'd love to give blood but unfortunately I can't. They've banned those with M.E from giving blood now.
I think it's more for the safety of the person giving blood though and because not that much is known about whether the M.E is in the blood or not.

LadyM, no they haven't! I had M.E (luckily I made an almost complete recovery) as a teenager, and I'm a regular blood donor. They talked about it for a long time, but it turned out that it looks like the study which said M.E was blood related was a flawed study, I think it was contaminated in some way - noone else has been able to replicate the findings. There are no questions at all about M.E on the donor form, they don't ask about it, it's absolutely fine.
Having said that, I would imagine that the delayed reaction to it for you would not be great, due to the extra pressure on the body to reproduce the missing blood, so I'm not sure I'd advise it for you as you're full blown suffering...0 -
BIG thank you to those who replied to my post, i really do appreciate it, i no i sound like a crazy (probably insensitive) woman but i just couldnt help it. I think it helps when people you talk to are in the same/similar situation who share the same concerns (not my husband just saying "we'll be fine!") somehow it means more so thank you. Il try to enjoy it and hope that the 12th comes round quick! Its nice to know im not alone in my worries...its just feels so surreal!
Really you have lifted a little weight off of my shoulders! Thanks ladies...and wish you all well xxxMarried Hubby 21/03/12...First Bubba due 13/01/130 -

When I googled about it, all sources I read said that those with M.E can't give blood anymore.:o
It isn't advisable for the more severe sufferers to give blood anyway for their own safety, but not sure about the sufferers who are more mild.2019 Wins

Hi ladies.
I'm currently at nine weeks and I'm really struggling. I'm constantly nauseous, aching all over and the last two days I've been unable to get out of bed. I'm managing to eat a little (crumpets, toast, mashed potato etc) but I'm really worried at how awful I'm feeling.
Is this normal? Am I right to feel concerned? Any help or advice would be appreciated.Have I helped? Feel free to click the 'Thanks' button. I like to feel useful (and smug).0 -
Hi, can I join?
I've been reading this thread for 6 weeks, but didn't want to tempt fate by joining.
I had my booking in appointment and first scan today and I'm 10+5. This is baby number 2, my LO is 18 months and I was a regular poster on the pregnancy forum.
I've been nauseous for about 6 weeks, but nothing too bad and have been eating loads.Hi ladies.

Sounds totally normal to me. High levels of hcg can cause sickness, but some think it indicates a healthy pregnancy. My BF is pregnant and described weeks 6 - 14 as hell. She lost 1 stone and vomitted constant and had no energy. She's 25 weeks now and feels great.0 -
