hi again. just been to the doc. as we are not sure without a swab, i will keep my nurse's appointment to see. I couldnt for the life of me explain what kind of smell it was, and today it seems to be ok. typical. just wanted to get it checked out. well they are always 'pressed' for time, so better to see the nurse. she did say they try and avoid taking too many swabs and opening up down there. she did say what you all said anyway that discharge is normal and i should just clean with water, and not over clean as over cleaning can attract bacteria. oh well back next week. lolBecame Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

Ive noticed a lot of changes down there, the extra discharge at one point was so bad I was wearing liners all day,
the different smell was described on one forum as smelling like sugar puffs :rotfl: which is probably about as close as i could call it !Bow Ties ARE cool "Just because you are offended, doesnt mean you are right" Ricky Gervais0 -
Hi everyone, im a newbie on this page, only found out Tuesday that i was finally carrying! I just wanted a bit of advice if you dont mind!
I went to the docs yesterday and she worked out i could be just over 9 weeks (would make sense as this week i have had sore boobs, morning sickness/nauseous and felt completely full 24/7!)
I didnt realise as we got married in March and had our honeymoon so i suppose watching and tracking my periods just flew over my head!
I have my first midwife appointment on 12th June, then i will book my first scan then. Seeing other peoples posts some of you have had scans as early as 6 weeks. Thing is, we have been trying for two years, we kind of gave up (not gave up but wasnt so religious) over the wedding period and it happened! He is absolutly over the moon, constantly talking and sending me things about it which of course i am happy about...but...i think i just need the scan to confirm everything is ok for me prior to getting excited and jumping on the "im having a baby band wagon!" i just cant help it, i must sound so negative to people, even the doctor asked if im happy about it! Of course i am im just worried, i dont want to get too excited and then something go wrong (i no im being a worry wart but i cant help it!)
I almost still dont believe it even after four tests, all the signs and constant wee stops!!
Am i the only one like this? Could i have a scan earlier to put my mind at rest? I dont even no 100% really how many weeks i am. Im just finding it hard to be baby happy until its confirmed for me that we are all ok! After that i think i wil be estatic (of course i will always worry all the way through) but it will put my mind at rest...please tell me im normal!
Its so frustrating that i have to wait until the 12th for a midwife meeting and then god knows how long until my first scan....if the docs right il be 13 weeks for the midwife meeting surley my scan cant be to long away?
Sorry for the rambling i have kept this in all week and need some help! The other half doesnt understand just says im being negative!!!
Thank you in advance! xxx and apologies for any spelling mistakes!Married Hubby 21/03/12...First Bubba due 13/01/130 -
Thanks mishka, lol.. i just describe it. i mean it wasnt nice but not offensive if you know what i mean.. sometimes i get lost for words or descriptions. it may sound silly. i mean if it was fishy i would def say that but i have no idea. i suppose we can wait till next week to see as the nurse may know.Became Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

welcome jenjen and congrats. :0)
you are entirely normal. we all have our concerns here ( you should some of mine on the previous ones and see how mad i have been). lol. I think you could get an early scan but sometimes they may say to wait till the first scan date unless something like bleeding or pain came up. you could ask your local early pregnancy unit, or your gp? I had to ask mine to go for an early scan as I had miscarried before so i wanted some re-assurance plus i have having some pain on my right hand side. hope this has helped. xBecame Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

Had my antenatal bloods this morning, finally. My midwife was supposed to do them but I asked if the Phlebotomist at the doctors surgery could do them as she is the only one who can get blood out of me easily as I have very small veins that like to collapse!
However, now my arm hurts and think I might have a lovely bruise! lol.2019 Wins

I normally have to lie down because I can get very faint but I managed to sit up this time.
DH asked if I wanted him to come in with me (I hate needles) but I declined. I'd be more worried about him fainting than the actual blood test!
I do have a slight phobia of needles but the surgery Phlebotomist is the only person who makes me feel more relaxed.2019 Wins

My midwife absolutely destroyed my arms - I have really deep veins so she tried two times in each arm, once in the back of my hand and then gave up and sent me to the phlebotomy department for it! They were fine - managed first time.
JenJen, congratulations and welcome
I think your chances of getting an early scan because you're worried are low, to be honest. I have been having 2 weekly scans because I'm being seen through a recurrent miscarriage clinic, this is my fourth pregnancy (none successful). Rups had a miscarriage a couple of months so managed to get one, but if you've got no indication that there are any problems it's unlikely that your doctor will refer you, and the EPU won't want to scan you because it'll be taking up appointment time which could be used by people who are having problems.
In addition, there is some evidence that whilst scans calm women down, it's only for about the 24 hours after they've been had and then the stress levels leap back up to higher than they were in the first place.
The majority of pregnancies are absolutely fine. Once you get a positive pregnancy test your chances of miscarrying are approximately 1/4 - so 75% of women will have completely normal healthy pregnancies. It does happen, and we're all aware of it but the odds are in your favour, and realistically - there's not that much they can do to change things if it is going wrong.
Try and enjoy it, as much as you can0 -
LadyM, I still have bruising on my arm and my bloods were taken last Wednesday!! I was going to ask if that was normal
Bruising didn't show up for the first day or two, arm just felt sore, but then I came up in two lovely purply-yellow bruises...
