Sara-ra-ra - They didn't mention it at the local hospital, but I presume they will go through options at the bigger hospital later and I presume induction is the next stage? I don't know. The lady said something about having a scan next week but I don't understand why. Hoping the bigger hospital will have more answers.

With a missed miscarriage, you have three options really - wait for it to happen naturally, take a tablet to induce it, or have an ERPC (an Evacuation of Retained Products of Conception), which is carried out under general anaesthetic. I've had two natural miscarriages, which were... sore. Not worse than the worst period pains that I've had, but they were sore. I had a MMC diagnosed at the 12 week scan, where the embryo had grown to around 8.5 weeks and then stopped developing, and in order not to drag it out I chose to have an ERPC. We found out about the MMC on the Wednesday, and I was booked in and had the op as a day procedure on the Saturday. It really depends how you want to deal with it. It's not unusual for your body to start rejecting it once you know that it's not viable - I think it's a psychological thing, but I started bleeding the day after my MMC was diagnosed and had started to cramp before I went in for the ERPC.
I'm afraid that I don't know much about molar pregnancies though, and presumably that's what the hospital is testing for? If they want you to have another scan in a week, it's probably because their guidelines state that they cannot rule out a viable pregnancy whilst the embryo is too small to show a heartbeat. At 6 weeks there is a chance that it's still a little too small to see a heartbeat so they have to hold off to see if it grows. It's not much consolation if you're certain on your dates, and you know you should be 12 weeks, but it's to stop healthy embryos being accidentally removed because the dates are a bit out.0 -

Hiya ladies, sorry have been awol for a while. We cancelled our internet and tv packages so have only been able to browse on my phone and we all know how hard it is to post on a mobile!
Massive hugs to everyone who is feeling yuck, to those who have bad news and those just in need! Congrats to everyone who have had their scans too.
As for me, i shouldnt really be here as i am now 13+2! i had my first scan last tuesday and sonographer said our little Flump looks happy and healthy with a strong heartbeatwe opted out of the nuchal test last minute as im not sure what action we wOuld have taken if it came back high risk, defo didnt want the second test, what will be will be!!
Getting over the nausea but now very very emotional, popped over to my parents for dinner and burst out crying for no reason! Couldnt tell anybody why i was upset as i didnt even know myself!
Had a few pains when i stand up from my chair at work, like ov pain? I coughed yesterday when having that pain and it doubled me over! Really hurt but only for about 10 seconds, no blood and no further pain so thinking it may just be a muscle or ligament? Only 2 weeks til my next mw so fingers crossed.
Defo still lurking ladies but you can kick me out if you want! Xx0 -
Abis- massive massive hugs honey. Im so so sorry, look after yourself xx0

Hi, please can I join you all? I have just had a positive on a digi (1 - 2 weeks) so early days but I am pregnant. I am happy but also trying not to get my hopes up as I have had a miscarriage and an ectopic pregnancy which led to one tube being removed in the last 8 months. We were going to take a break from trying this cycle but now so glad we didn't. I am just happy we have been able to get pregnant again and fingers crossed all will be ok.
I have been getting period like pains which I know is normal, but also pretty scary after my previous experiences. Due to the previous ectopic I will get a scan at 6 weeks I think. I am trying to stay calm about the whole thing.... chocolate is helping!
Abis, I am so sorry to hear your sad news. Look after yourself hun x0 -
welcome candlewax. I know that fear as i have had a miscarriage just over 3.5 months ago. the thing is to try and stay calm. i know its very very hard, and i am still going through it.
