How did you manage that? I have had no mention of a scan. I thought I was hard done by having my first appointment at over 10weeks, but I think you take the cake :p I'm just worried that if my booking in appointment is only in 2 weeks time, and they only book me for the scan then, it might be later than 12 weeks... we don't want to tell anyone until the scan so the wait is getting a bit much![/QUOTE

I got my scan date through the post first. 4 days before the midwife appointment.

    Hi all,

Apologies if this is too much information, but i'm worrying a little - I had some brown discharge at work today, not much but it was there - i'm 6+4 and just wanted to check?

I had brown discharge on and off for a week or two at the same time (6 to 8 weeks or so). It could be your wriggler settling into the womb lining for a comfy 7 or 8 months sleepover. No one seemed particularly concerned and everything turned out fine. If you cramp, particularly on one side only, or start bleeding fresh blood (bright or dark red) then you need to mention it, but AFAIK a little bit of brown discharge is very common and nothing to worry about.

Morning ladies... hope everyone had a lovely evening. :rotfl:

Thanks for the lovely messages student and cleofish. hope you have both been well. xxx

Just been catching up on yesterday's messages. learning so much. I just remembered that before i did my test, and when i had that little bleed the day before my period, me and DH were away in Brighton and we were naughty... oops. as i had seen some blood, i thought i wasnt pregnant so i carried on anyway.. hope that wont affect anything?i get so paranoid!

i guess i can wait till wed to see the proper GP and get the ball rolling.. i might then see if can pop into may day for tests etc as last time, seeing the midwife took ages and it was when i saw her, she took blood tests. everythng was so slow. then things were over so quickly and the stupid gp forgot to tell mayday about it and they then sent me a letter for a scan! grrr.. i will let this experience teach me and i will ask more questions now. :)

is this little weird ibs pain (its not too bad but i can sense it) normal? i know i keep asking about it..lol

Rups - it's nice to see you back on here. The pain you are describing is really normal but after what happened I think you are just naturally going to worry about every little thing. I know I did.
Definitely talk to your GP and explain everything. And you are within your rights to ask as many questions as you want to him/her. That is what they are there for. I always say that knowledge is power so ask away.

Rups this page has lots of information on what you can and can't eat and this page is specifically about shellfish. As long as its cooked properly it should be fine. I think you need to just have no more than two portions a week and I don't think you can have cold cooked shellfish (I.e prawn cocktail) but I might be wrong. I've had some calamari and some hot prawns a few times during my pregnancy.

BTW the baby enter website has a lot of information on it and I've found it really useful.

thanks ems..i love seafood but yest the smell was too much for me. poor hubby made it as well so i had a bit with pasta and then he took the rest for his lunch today. :)

the more i look online too, the more worried etc i get so am avoiding it. :) will look at the food lists. am aware of the cheeses, pate etc. luckily i had already cut down caffeine since the last preg so that was an on-going habit. as long as i get my cuppa in the morning, i am fine. :)

I cut caffeine out all together (well not all together as I still have chocolate and the very occasional cheeky glass of coke) on the advice of my midwife. I tried loads of decaf tea bags before I found ones I like because I can't bare not to have a cuppa and biscuits ;) I found Yorkshire decaf tea taste just like normal tea so I haven't missed the caffeine :)
