These things are part and parcel of early pregnancy, and that's what this thread is for - the stress of early pregnancy. Unfortunately, 1/4 (or 25%) of pregnancies end in miscarriage, 1 in 50 are ectopic and approximately half of all women get some bleeding in pregnancy, and we see it all here because you get the people who start with a BFP and then go on either to graduate or - horribly - to get bad news.
I've crashed and burned out of this thread twice in the last 6 months with early miscarriages, but if my experiences mean that someone else knows where to go to get support, who to talk to in the medical profession, what an EPU is, then that's a positive outcome of my time on this thread. Because I'm being silly, I'm not signing on to here but I am lurking and if I can help someone who is feeling that uncertainty and worry then I will if I can.
So. Go to the GP. I hope it's good news for you, and I hope she refers you to be scanned, just to be on the safe side. Make sure you mention the shoulder tip pain and say that you've read that it could be a symptom of ectopic. If she doesn't think so she'll tell you why and that should put your mind at rest. And let us know how you get on, we're cheering you from the sidelines.
And, tbh, brown blood can be a sign too. I didn't want to mention it because I really hope it's just one of those things, but LadyM... you need to get to the quacks, sharpish.

LadyM, don't you dare leaving us!
Dizsiebubba, thank you for the list, it looks great.
Can I ask that how long it took you to get a call/letter from midwife? The gp sent the referral last week but not sure about the timing. Also do you get your scan date through the post or your midwife tells you? I can't wait to have my booking in appointment, getting so inpatient.0 -

Had both my scan and booking appt letters through within 10 days of seeing my GP. x:jBaby Boy born December 20120 -

I got my appointments for booking in and scan about 2 weeks after seeing the GP. If you don't receive anything soon you could ring the community midwife service and check they've received the referral?Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
afternoon ladies
I broke my no buying before the scan rule todayIt was for MSE reasons though :money: It's real nappy week, and the site I was planning to get my washables from are doing 20% off the nappy and wipes sets I planned to buy. Couldn't turn down £60 off!
These are the nappies and wipes we're gettingThey'll be delivered tomorrow, but I'm going to leave the package unopened until the scan so I can return them if needed.

Just an update.
The GP is sending me to the hospital today, just to be on the safe side and I have to take an overnight bag just incase.
Wish me luck! I'm scared.:(2019 Wins

sorry to hear that LadyM, but I'm glad the GP is taking it seriously and acting quickly. When my sister had an ectopic last year it took them ages to diagnose it and she was very poorly. Fingers crossed it's not bad news, and you're home in a day or two. Keep us updated when you can, I'll be thinking of you.Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160

Thinking of you LadyM - fingers crossed you won't need that overnight bag.
