Welcome Emylou, the first 12 weeks are some of the hardest with regards to worry. There is no right or wrong about announcing, some do some don't it won't change anything should the worst happen.

With regards to your headache, you can take paracetamol (sp) most other things are off the table.

Thanks Kitten_Pie. I am quite liking our secret & am rubbish at lying so trying to avoid people who may guess- like my Mum & aunt!
I feel so sick right now, just taken a paracetamol hope it helps quickly! (I really don't want to moan as I am so pleased I'm pregnant- still feels so surreal though!)

I want to wear my beautiful wedding dress everyday- it would make shopping so much more fun, I mean, people go shopping in their pyjamas these days.......
    Must STOP spending!!! :)

I always tell people the first few weeks of pregnancy (for me anyway) always feel like a hangover - you feel carp and know that its your own fault and there aint a whole lot you can do about it ;)

I told my family last weekend and was 17weeks, although last time I told them before the test was dry :D

I would have waited longer but it has become pretty obvious now.

    Evening Ladies,

Welcome Emylou, Needhelpsaving and whoever I missed!

I haven't told anyone yet apart from my best friend and another friend (she is pregnant too, only 4 days ahead of me). OH told EVERYONE in his family in Poland and most of his friends here in the UK. I refuse till we get to 12 weeks, my main reason is that I suspect that my SIL is pregnant too and want her to announce first :).

I feel ok though rather fat today. Just hope that it's only bloating and not bump!

Haha Mishka - I think thats exactly right about the symptoms being like a hangover! Keep trying not to moan about them to DH as he will never let us have another baby if I am a big moaner :rotfl:

Welcome Emylou & Needhelpsaving and congratulations to you both :j:j

Emylou - I've been finding it very hard not to tell people. I have a DD (nearly 6) and last time it was a lot easier as people kind of weren't expecting an announcement, but I have made it very clear that I wanted another and have been super broody for a good 2-3 years now. We got married in July last year, and I think people are just waiting for us to announce it. I did tell a few people we were TTC as it was taking longer than I would have liked. I'm 7 weeks today, and we told DD yesterday, and are going to tell parents / siblings next weekend. I said to DH that I would prefer people knew, as its going to become obvious (I rushed off to be sick in front of most of my family on friday) and I would prefer people to be told rather than guess. If anything does go wrong, then it will also be nice to have the support of those people too. I aren't going to put anything on facebook etc until after the scan tho - only close people will know before then. Its taken me a little while to persuade DH to do it this way tho, as he was all for waiting til the scan to tell anyone
 Married my lobster in July 2011

TTC # 2 since Oct 2011 - good things come to those who wait :o

 2013 is going to be our lucky year

we told our parents right away, and also my boss due to the nature of my job. We would have waited to tell everyone else until after the 12 week scan, except that we had 2 hen/stag weekends in a row, and then a wedding this friday with our close group of friends so told them as I'm rubbish at lying and it would have just been really obvious!

We told our siblings last weekend when it was my niece's baptism, as my morning sickness had been really bad all week and I thought I was likely to need to make a run for the bathroom at some point! (which I did, ick!). We're waiting to tell our wider circle of friends/acquaintances/colleagues til after the scan though. Only 2 weeks to go :j

I'm back to work tomorrow after my week off, and dreading it :( still being sick randomly, and with very little warning, which I find quite stressful in a public situation! Hopefully it will start to ease up soon.

    Hi all,

Thanks for the warm welcome. We have decided that we won't tell anyone until after scan, gotta see the Dr first!

I am very excited, but a little apprehensive due to everything being so early - does anyone else feel like that?

I have had a bit of nausea, but seriously what is with the burping??? lol - I sound like a novelty toy!! :rotfl:
