LadyM - I had an implantation bleed and it continued as spotting for a good week or 2 (only when I wiped tho - so not too much).
Bleeding in early pregnancy can be common but also very scary. I didn't have any bleeding at all with DD, so I must say I didn't really like the spotting as its not nice to see blood there when you don't want it there.
If you are worried about it, or it gets heavier then I would try to contact a doctor / midwife / EPU unit.
Moneypuddle, I have my midwife appt on monday to be booked in, but they only took a note of my LMP on the form I filled in, so I expect they think I am 2 weeks ahead of where I am as I have long cycles. (I know when I ov'd as I was temping, so it makes it a lot easier for me to date things) Think you normally get your booking in appt at 8-10 weeks. I was so excited when I got mine through - its seems more 'real' somehow when you have to see a midwife :rotfl:Married my lobster in July 2011

Abis I knew when I ov'd too but sonographer told us off for using that date and said we should use lmp. As it goes baby measured right for using my lmp xYou never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Thanks for all of your help and advice.
Can I ask just one more time. The first day of my last period was 1st March. Everywhere online says I'm 5 weeks pregnant but my GP says I'm 3 weeks, so I'm confused. Which is it?2019 Wins

Ooooo, really? Cos I ov'd on CD29, whereas most people's cycle finished around then. So they might put me forward 2 weeks?? That would be WELL cool, altho I may have to kiss goodbye to my 12/12/12 date of birth if they start putting me forward :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

You will have ovulated approx 2 weeks into your cycle, so the the sperm & egg met around the 15th March. So you would be 4 weeks from conception today, but for dating purposes they add on an extra 2 weeks from conception, so you are infact 6 weeks from today, but the baby didn't 'exist' in 2 of those weeks as you would have been gearing up for ovulation then. Its a bit of a wierd way that they date it all.
My hubby didn't really get the 2 week adding on thing - he just thinks I'm cheating and trying to skip weeks by :rotfl:Married my lobster in July 2011

it also all gets sorted out at your first scan, around 12 weeks.
For me personally in my first 3 pregnancies I was put back, normally by around a week and a half / 2 weeks (which gives the allowance for my slightly longer cycles and late ovulation)
This time i was moved on a week, which i expected as I ovulated on cd10.
At the dating scan you will be given your official due date, before that it is ALWAYS calculated by your lmp which can be frustrating if you know its out !
I think its done this way to make it easier for the doctors to date you in the early stages, 'normally' cycles are 28 days and you ovulate on day 14 but in practice we all know how much we differ.Bow Ties ARE cool "Just because you are offended, doesnt mean you are right" Ricky Gervais0 -
On the form for referral to the midwife they only asked for LMP date, so thats what they will be using for now I guess. Have my first appt on monday, so I guess that it will all get discussed then?
I can't remember exactly what happened with DD. I came off the pill and never had a natural period, so they took the last date from the period before for dating purposes. I didn't have a clue when I ov'd then tho, and I think it took about 7 weeks or so before I got a BFP so I presumably did ov late. I can't remember them putting me back significantly tho at the first scan? Maybe a couple of days??
Will just have to be patient and wait and see what happens :AMarried my lobster in July 2011

hi everyone
lady M- how are you feeling today? same advice here from me as the others with any sort of blood, get epu or your gp to have a check just to be safe.
scottishchick- yeh :T for reaching 12 weeks and for hearing the heart beat, hoping it all goes smooth for you and hopefully i might see you in a few more weeks.
maddie- sorry to hear of your uti, i thought the midwife should have done a sort of dipstick test, hopefully it will clear up quickly for you.
abis21- sorry your feeling sick, it stinks when you make the effort to make a meal and when you actually sit down you cant eat it, when i was feeling sick i just wanted to enjoy food again and picking something for tea was hard, didnt fancy anything. Hoping you manage to find something that works so you manage to eat and its not too bad for you.
good luck for your booking in on monday as well.:T
wootball- you made me smile when you said about your wife taking another test. i remember taking test after test, just to see and to make sure if the line got darker. i think it comes with the terriotry until it sinks in.
lalaland- sorry to hear your feeling tired, i know they say every pregnancy is different and you do have a little one as well so no wonder you must be feeling tired, hopefully when your further along it will ease up a bit for you and you can enjoy it more.
afm sickness seems to be easing up but this makes me worry something is up, ah cant win, i wish the sickness away but then when it does i worry why its gone..
hoping everyone has a good night.0 -
Is anyone else getting excruciating headaches?
Feel like my head's about to fall off!
Hello Cleofish. I'm feeling very nauseous and headachy today. I had a chat with my GP who has reassured me and seeing her in a couple of weeks.
Also going away next weekend so hoping that the nausea doesn't affect me! The last thing I want is to feel crap in a room full of wargamers!
How are you?2019 Wins
