If you got to your local EPU they will scan you and check, I just had a scan about 10 days ago because of the cramps all being on one side, no heavy bleeding but they still scanned.
Better to be safe than sorry xxx:jBaby Boy born December 20120 -
Morning Ladies,
LadyM, how do you feel today? EPU is great, if you have any concerns just walk in and they do a scan.
I'm feeling ok today, the back ache in the mornings are really horrible but after a good stretch it's all better. I'm picking up a Medela swing breast pump today, brand new for £30. I also got a John Lewis moses basket and a play gym on Monday through freecycle. The lady was so generous, I couldn't believe it, I ended up posting a book for her son yesterday as a thank you present. I know it's still early collecting things but I'm just keeping my eyes open I guess...
Oh, and I went to the gp yest and she is going to refer me for antenatal care in my local hospital. Glad it's all sorted.
Have a good day everyone!0 -
I'm very happy today, I've finally reached 12 weeks :j:j I didn't think I would make it. I've just heard the heartbeat on the Doppler, took a while but heard it in the end
. I'm going to move onto the next thread today and I'm also heading into town to buy some babygros, just because I can

Congratulations scottishchick! I'll hopefully see you over in the next thread in 3 weeks
LadyM - hopefully your pain is nothing to worry about, but sounds like talking to nhs direct or heading down to the EPU would be a good idea.
moneypenny 21 - you should have a scan around 12 weeks, it can vary a bit (think 11-13) but definately before 17wks.
Well, sorry I am such an infrequent poster, been falling asleep as soon as I get home most nights and then having to have quick lunch breaks due to late starts after struggling to get out of be...so finding the time to get on here is difficult!
Things are going fairly well from me, other than a nagging doubt I've had for a while that my tummy pains and frequent weeing could be due to more than just the pregnancy. I had read somewhere that the midwife would check my urine so had presumed this would be done last monday, then forgot to ask when she didn't. Well I happened to be at the docs yesterday so finally got round to being tested, and yes I have a UTI
Got antibiotics now so just hoping I've caught it quick enough to avoid any problems. They are very common during pregnancy so if any of you are wondering I would definately advise being tested.
I'm now wondering whether all my tiredness and generally feeling rubbish has been down to the UTI as well or just the pregnancy.
I'll update the members list in my next post - I see there are 3 of us with the same due dateProud to be a moneysaver! :cool:0 -

Hi everyone
LadyM - hope you are ok and have been checked out or are feeling lots better now.
Scottishchick - Yay for reaching 12 weeks. Will see you over on the next thread in a few weeks. Good news on being able to hear babys heartbeat still. Am soooo tempted to get a doppler...
Oooo, Kavics, sounds like you are picking up some right bargains already :jI haven't started buying anything new yet as we have so much stuff from DD. And besides, I'm sure grand-parents to be would love to help outMy mum went mad last time n got all sorts of little bits for baby.
Madie - I've been sleeping loads and loads too! And weeing lots - but have managed to not wake up in the night for a wee for 2 nights now which seems like something to celebrate. Its sad when I get to thinking things like that :rotfl: Hope your UTI clears up soon.
Moneypenny - the ones who have had early scans (6-8 weeks) are usually when they have paid for them privately or if they have any problems with cramping or bleeding. The usual way the NHS does things is one at 12 weeks and one at 20 weeks altho this can vary a little from area to area. I think symptoms do tend to come and go somewhat, so don't be worried by any of that. Just enjoy it if you do get a sicky free day etc, lol!!
AFM - feeling ill todayMy cold n cough are still hanging around, and I didn't sleep well last night. I am suffering with sickness now and was sick for the first time today at work.
Feeling queasy most of the time, and eating doesn't seem to help, but I know if I don't eat I will make it worse ifswim. I'm not really 'fancying' anything tho which is making things awkward. Made spagetti n meatballs last night and I was so looking forward to them and was hungry, but when it came to eating them I hardly managed a thing. I tried again an hour later and managed a little more, but I ate less than my DD in total.
I love my food normally, so its quite wierd for me. I had a nice snack yesterday of strawberries, grapes and a yoghurt poured over them, which I think I will do again today. I seem to like 'fresh' things more I think, but my spagetti last night had loads of veggies in it, and that wasn't appealing once it was in front of me. I just don't know what to buy in to 'fix' me? Had soup and a roll for lunch and thought that was gonna come back up for nearly an hour or so afterwards, so I don't think thats the answer...
I have a busy day tomorrow. Am at work for 4 hours, then facepainting for 2 hours, and then watching DD's dance show which will be my first 'late' night for a while. (will probably finish at 9pm and I am usually in bed before then at the mo) My mum is coming with us to watch and she doesn't know yet, so will have to not show any symptoms if possible. Think I will have chance for a nap in between work & facepainting. Fingers crossed I aren't feeling as sick tomorrow...

My wife took another test yesterday out of curiosity more than anything and just to make sure it wasn't a 'false positive'...
Still positive.

Thought I'd update!
I was meant to be seeing my GP today. Our surgery has a system where they have so many advanced appointments and then when they're gone you have to phone up in the morning to get one for that day.
I was told that my GP was in today (she works part-time) so I phoned up early this morning only to be told that the earliest available appointment for her was next Wednesday! The receptionist could tell that I was stressed by that point (I have a massive anxiety of using the phone.) so said that she'd get my GP to call me. I don't trust any of the other GPs.
Anyway, she phoned me and we just talked through things like when my last period was, how I feel about it etc. I mentioned the stabbing pain in my abdomen and the pain in my shoulder, but it's now more an ache (which I usually get). She said not to worry and that I'm still only 3 weeks but that she wants to see me at 5 weeks because of my medical history. She said that I'll get alot of support from the surgery etc due to my medical problems, which reassured me. She then asked if I'm sure that I want to continue with the pregnancy because of the M.E and I do want to. I'm just apprehensive!
She said that because of my history and because it's still early days, there may be a chance that I'll miscarry and to phone her if I have any bleeding or anything.
In other news, my sea-bands arrived and I'm finding it hard to put them on the right place on my wrists!2019 Wins

I need help but this is going to be TMI.
I just went to the loo and when I wiped there was stringy blood but then I carried on wiping and there wasn't any more. I don't know if that's normal because it's not heavy? I know that spotting is normal but there isn't any spotting in my underwear, just when I wiped.:o
Eurgh! TMI!2019 Wins

Hi lady M,
In my first pregnancy I had quite a bit of blood and it was all fine. However it is always best to get it checked out. Call your GP or EPU to check.Overdraft = £1000 Emergency fund = £2500
