Hi Ladies.
Fab idea with the list dizsiebubba :j
Those who are <12 weeks:
Dizsiebubba (24) EDD 21/11/12 No other children. 12 weeks on 8th May 2012.
cleofish (29) EDD 28/11/12 no other children (2 mcs) 12 weeks on 9th may 2012 (i think depending on my cycle length)
Abis21 (30) EDD 02/12/12 (oooo, maybe I will get a 12/12/12 baby! How exciting!) DD(aged nearly 6) altho this is my DH's first. 12 weeks on 20th May 2012.
My sickness hasn't seemed as bad today as I am spreading out the eating a lot more and eating smaller portions. Think I have maybe been over-filling my tummy - even with drinks as well as I am making an effort to drink more fluids. Last time round I didn't get 'too full' so its a whole new thing for me.
Welcome to the thread euripidesralph. I think a second opinion wouldn't hurt? I don't know much about it I'm afraid. Its a worry you could definately do without thats for sure.Married my lobster in July 2011

Firstly, congratulations everyone!
Unfortunately there's no real evidence that progesterone suppositories help even in cases of recurrent miscarriage. There's a large trial going on at the moment in RMCs, called the PROMISE trial and the RCOG guidelines are that you shouldn't be given them unless you're part of that trial. Can I ask how you know your progesterone levels are low? It's just unusual for them to test for that, usually in early pregnancy they blood test for HCG as an indicator of how it's progressing - and even then, a single reading doesn't tell you much; you need two a couple of days apart.
The problem is that there is very little they can do to stop you miscarrying unfortunately. There are hundreds of reasons it can happen and there's not much the medical profession can do about it.
Ladymorticia, having suffered from M.E before, I have to say that (in my experience), pregnancy tiredness is nothing compared to the bone weary fatigue of ME. I kept waiting for it to get bad, and thinking 'is this it?!'. I don't think anyone really understands tiredness of that sort, I suspect you'll be fine. I'm sure I read somewhere about ME having a remission in some patients, have you seen anything about it? To start with when you have the baby, your physical demands shouldn't be too much and if you have screwy sleep patterns it should fit in nicely!
There was a list - it went Name, Booking In Date, 12 wk scan date, EDD, I think. I'm not officially on this thread as I keep bouncing in and out (this is my third pregnancy in 6 months...) so I'm not signing in.0 -
euripidesralph- so sorry to hear on your progesterone levels and how the doctors have been, really hope everything works out for you.
Cant they even try and give you progesterone supplements, that way at least you can say you tried everything. Really hope it works out for you, after all docs dont know everything.
and if you ever need to offload we are here, sometimes its good just to get it off your chest.0 -
One of my main worries is that I won't have enough energy to "push" and that it would set the M.E back. Heck, I'm bedbound alot. How am I going to push out a little human being when I can't even walk without getting exhausted?!2019 Wins

Hi everyone, I know this tends to be a place for the ladies to chat about being less than 12 weeks but I wondered if you could help me out.
My wife took a ClearBlue test last Thursday (her period was due on Wednesday) and it came back as positive with 1-2 weeks since conception. We are both absolutely over the moon and excited but equally apprehensive at the same time because we know not to get our hopes up until 12 weeks – but this is incredibly difficult when it’s our first and something we both want so much…
She has been in touch with the doctor and is due a call from a midwife today, and been booked in for a check with the doctor for the end of the month. I am trying not to worry her with anything so I’m doing as much reading and research as I can so I know what to expect and what my role needs to be during the next (fingers crossed) nine months. I want to be a rock for her and be there every single step of the way, but I feel helpless at the moment since there really doesn’t seem to be anything I can do.
So a few questions:
1. She is feeling very queasy a lot of the time but has not been sick at all. I was expecting morning sickness so is it normal that she isn’t actually being sick at any point? She is eating normally albeit a little less because she feels queasy.
2. She is also very tired, all the time – often going to bed at 6-7pm and dozing off a few times during the day (at the weekend when relaxing obviously, she doesn’t fall asleep at work!) – is this normal or does it indicate a deficiency in something?
3. One of her breasts has started to hurt which I was expecting, the other does not hurt at all. Should both be sore/tender or is this something we need to get checked out?
4. Apart from Folic Acid (which she is taking every day) are there any other supplements that we need to invest in?
5. What is the actual process now, what should we expect for the next couple of months with doctors, appointments etc? I don’t want to burden her with stress or questions, but I want to be there for her all the way.
6. What do all the abbreviations and acronyms mean in this thread?
Sorry to be a typical bloke not really knowing what the hell is going on… but I don’t!
Thank you all for any help you can offer me…

Hello  I'm not actually on this thread anymore (18 weeks yesterday) but I thought I would answer your questions.Hi everyone, I know this tends to be a place for the ladies to chat about being less than 12 weeks but I wondered if you could help me out.
So a few questions:
1. She is feeling very queasy a lot of the time but has not been sick at all. I was expecting morning sickness so is it normal that she isn’t actually being sick at any point? She is eating normally albeit a little less because she feels queasy.
This is totally normal. I have been queasy with this pregnancy and the last and have never been sick. Not every woman is sick or even feels nauseous
2. She is also very tired, all the time – often going to bed at 6-7pm and dozing off a few times during the day (at the weekend when relaxing obviously, she doesn’t fall asleep at work!) – is this normal or does it indicate a deficiency in something?
Again totally normal and expect it to last at least the majority of the first trimester. My energy levels didn't pick up until about 15/16 weeks.
3. One of her breasts has started to hurt which I was expecting, the other does not hurt at all. Should both be sore/tender or is this something we need to get checked out?
I've had one sore boob at times, I don't think it's anything to worry about. It could be that her boobs are growing and her bra is digging in to one side if one boob is bigger than the other (which it is in most women). She will probably find it comes and goes and switches.
4. Apart from Folic Acid (which she is taking every day) are there any other supplements that we need to invest in?
Folic acid is all you need although there are pregnancy multivitamins you can take (I take Tesco own). If she takes these she probably won't have to take folic acid too as a lot of them have it in it.
5. What is the actual process now, what should we expect for the next couple of months with doctors, appointments etc? I don’t want to burden her with stress or questions, but I want to be there for her all the way.
It varies from area to area but usually you have a booking in appointment with the midwife at about 10 weeks. This is to gather information about medical history for both of you and some for immediate family. Then there will be the dating scan, usually between 11 and 13 weeks. After that there is a 16 week midwife check (my area it is 18 weeks) and then the anomaly scan between 18-22 weeks.
6. What do all the abbreviations and acronyms mean in this thread?
EPU is early pregnancy unit. Most hospitals have them and they are usually where you would go to for any problems in early pregnancy. EDD is expected delivery date. Prior to the dating scan this is worked out using your wife's LMP (first day of her last period). There are lots of online calculators which will work this out for you. Can't think of anymore sorry.
Sorry to be a typical bloke not really knowing what the hell is going on… but I don’t!
Thank you all for any help you can offer me…

It sounds like you will be a great support for your wife. Congratulations to you both.

Congratulations, Wootball. I'd just add one thing to emsbet's great answers - Vitamin D supplements are also advised in pregnancy (along with the folic acid). Current recommendations are:
Folic Acid - 400 micrograms per day until 12 weeks although there is no harm in continuing with this throughout the pregnancy.
Vitamin D - 10 micrograms per day throughout. Continue also if breastfeeding.
If she swaps from folic acid to a pregnancy multivitamin she'll get both the above, plus some other useful stuff.

Hi Guys,
I'm back!!!
Well, came back on Monday but have been really busy adjusting back to normality.
OH came to pick me up from the airport with his sister so there was no chance telling him there and then, I actually had to wait till we went to see the dr for my scan. He kind of guessed that I was pregnant, my reason to see the dr for a general check up wasn't convincing. Anyway, he was very pleased, we had a good chat with dr and saw the little one's heartbeat. He dated me as 6 weeks (which is exactly right according to ovulation), so today I'm 7 weeks. EDD is 28th Nov. I'm going to gp today for a referral to the midwives and than see how it goes.
Welcome Newbies, I kept reading the thread but was too busy replying, sorry. Hope everyone is ok.
I have no pregnancy symptoms apart from the extreme constipation, I actually managed not to go to the loo for 6 days! I looked 4 months pregnant. Now back to normal but constipation is still problem.0
