Congratulations LadyMorticia! Hope the ME doesn't make things too difficult for you through your pregnancy. Good on you for continuing with your degree as well
Haras_nosirrah, i'm 8+6 and my morning sickness has got much worse over the last week as wellHopefully only a few more weeks and it will ease off again
I'm keeping mine at bay by eating little and often, and trying to eat my main meal earlier in the evening so I'm not too full when I go to bed. Doesn't always work though, last night we ate at 630 (2 slices pizza and a bowl of salad, not exactly a massive feast!), and when we went to bed at 11 my stomach still felt totally overfull, and I ended up being sick
Bleh!
Hope everyone's having a nice weekend, had a lovely day with DH today, and we're off out for dinner with a friend who's visiting from ScotlandLittle monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
I'm a bit worried because I know that you're supposed to take Folic Acid before conception and during pregnancy but I'm 5 weeks gone and only just found out! I'm also on Tramadol for severe pain and Quetiapine for an anxiety disorder. I'm not asking for medical advice because I know I'll have to come off of them. I'm coming off of the Quetiapine anyway with my psych's help. It's just taking a while!
I'm going to get some Folic Acid asap and try to eat better, but with an eating disorder, it's hard but I want our baby to be healthy and I don't want to compromise that.2019 Wins

hi everyone,
lady morticia- congrats on your news, hoping everything goes smoothly for you.I would try and at least take a vitamin for pregnancy now and see your doc asap so they can help with your other medication. Im epiletic and take medication, and because of that i have to take prescription strength folic acid that has to come from doc.
haras-nosirrah- in a previous pregnancy for me, the midwife for the booking in appoitnment came to my home as well, i think it just depends on the area and it was a sunday with me as well but i did get the chance to have it at the hospital as well.
the comment on your cat made me laugh, ive got 2 cats but dont think they have been any different other than a bit more clingy.
feeling a bit better here today, trying to eat little and often but still feeling queezy nearly all the time, really hoping that goes by 12 weeks.
i ordered the general book, what to expect when your expecting off ebay, but it seems really old, there is a funny picture on the front of a woman in a knitted jumper with a coat hanging over her shoulder, she has a baby bump and it looks like some sort of 70's knitting pattern.:rotfl:
Just wondering if anyone has read a good pregnancy book, ideally with a bit of humour mixed in, so its enjoyable to read (and truthful) as well?0 -
Thank you cleofish.
Has anyone here used Sea-Bands?I have severe emetophobia, which is a fear of throwing up, and that aspect of pregnancy is really making me panic. I don't want to take any unnecessary drugs during pregnancy but read about Sea-Bands and I was wondering if they have helped anyone here?2019 Wins

I invested in some and they made no difference what so ever ! some people have success with them though so its a case of try it and see I guess.
I found some cases of increased doses of vitamin b6 worked but my doctor was extremely unhelpful and hadnt heard of it and wasnt willing to look into it themselves  - even though im on my fourth pregnancy she asked if I had tried eating dry toast !?!?
Personally, I would say dont worry about it till it happens, I've suffered badly in some pregnancies and very mildly in others, eating little and often really does help and for me it was crisps which kept me going some dayswho knows how you will feel, its more rare than women are actually sick so fingers crossed you will be one of those that have no symptoms

LadyMorticia,
With regards to sickness, I have been lucky in both my pregnancies that I have had constant nausea throughout however I have only been sick once. Once last pregnancy and once this pregnancy.
And I am not convinced that when I was sick it was pregnancy related and not a bug.Overdraft = £1000 Emergency fund = £2500

That I can't help with, I have craved red meat throughout. But will add cravings have been more a strong fancy eating that rather than I must eat NOW!
I wouldn't worry about things until they happen, you may be lucky and have a really easy pregnancy.Overdraft = £1000 Emergency fund = £2500
