Congratulations on your scan Ikkle :j:j So exciting! Had you already told people or are you able to tell lots of people now? Nice that they moved you forward with your dates too
Hope your scan goes ok snowbeanYou could have a word with the midwife tomorrow about the nuchal test if you are still undecided?
Oooo, kavics thats a right bargain! Just had a quick look to see if there is anything local to me for early scans and I think it would be 30mins away and about £80 so probably not gonna be able to do it. Will just have to be patient...
What have you tried with the queasiness Littlemoog? I had to eat little and often with my DD's pregnancy. And mints really helped too. I was trying to watch my weight, so at first I wasn't eating between lunch and tea, so would often feel too sick to then eat tea and I was soooo awkward trying to find something I did fancy for tea, cos I felt that ill. If I could prevent getting to that stage, it was so much easier!
AFM, I have just been and filled in a midwife form at the docs. They only asked a few basic details and then asked last menstrual period date. I have long cycles, so didn't ovulate until day 29, so I think they will probably date me as 2 weeks further along than I actually am. I will get chance to talk about it all tho when I have my booking in appointment. It seems a bit more 'real' now.
I'm finding it ever so hard not telling people. Really want to just shout it from the rooftops. Obv my DH knows, and I have also told my best friend and another really close friend who lives a street away and I have spoken to about finding it frustrating TTC. I don't like not being able to tell my DD. I normally tell her all my news. I know its not sensible to tell her though at the moment.Married my lobster in July 2011

Have you had your scan yet? If not, then you can simply ask for the nuchal fold test at the time. If you've already had your scan, you might be able to have the triple test(?) which is a blood test I believe. I've been trying mints (polos) today, and I tried boiled sweets yesterday. Neither had much effect.
I've been getting a really sore/bloaty tummy after lunch as well as feeling queasy so it's really hard to concentrate. Doesn't seem to matter what I eat - yesterday: ham salad sandwich and fruit, today: LO curry with rice, fruit, really different meals but the same effect on my stomach.I'm starving by lunchtime as well, despite a snack mid-morning (babybel and a gingernut). I've never been much of a snacker, so I'm finding it hard to adjust my routine.
Any other suggestions appreciated! Think I'll try and get a button extender at the weekend so I can at least undo my jeans after lunch without it being too noticable! :rotfl:Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
Sorry I've not popped in for a couple of days - was completely overwhelmed with tiredness last night (missed half of 2 programmes I'd started to watch on TV so was annoyed bout that), so didn't get online.
Pleased to hear that the scans have all gone well. Good luck for anyone having one tomorrow or over the next few days (in case I don't get online again).
LittleMoog a good filling healthy snack is hard-boiled eggs. You can make a few in one session and stick them in the fridge in their shells, and use as required. I like them sliced in wholemeal sandwiches with salad cream and white pepper at the moment though.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -
Thanks sm, unfortunately I'm intolerant to eggs, so can't eat them unless they're well mixed in. Also can't eat mayo, which makes life difficult!Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160

Congratulations Ikkle, you must be so happy.
I've got my scan date in for the 20th April when I'll be 13 weeks but I can't wait that long and OH is working away then. I've booked an early one tomorrow in a city 60 miles away which is where OH works so he's going to meet me there. Hopefully the traffic isn't too bad and I'm not late getting there after work. I'm so nervous as I've convinced myself something is going to go wrong. DD is coming with us but I've told her she'll have to wait outside until we know for sure that everything is ok.:j little fire cracker born 5th November 2012 :j0 -
How old is your DD scottish chick? I take it she knows already? If so, when did you tell her?
I want to tell my DD, but DH is more cautious and wants to wait. And I was also wondering what to do about scans etc - whether to take her along or not.Married my lobster in July 2011

Our DD is 10, we told her as soon as we knew. My friend had a miscarriage recently which we had to tell DD about so she is aware that sometimes the baby can die and knows that is why she has to wait outside to begin with.:j little fire cracker born 5th November 2012 :j0

My DS is 3, we told him at xmas (26 weeks) as we went for a 4d scan and took him with us to keep him involved. He was not that interested but has been very loving towards bump since. When we told him we were going to hospital to see the baby he thought we were bringing it home.
It was maybe a bit too soon as i think he is bored now of waiting, mind you so am i lol. Due date tomorrow though. (I know i don't belong on this board but was just lurking again).0 -
Good luck flutterby, hope baby comes soon x:j little fire cracker born 5th November 2012 :j0
