It is the smells that get me the most too. I still have a problem with them and now 15weeks ish.

I still can't open the fridge and have aired the place and sprayed it with fabreeze as well as nice smells to try and cover it up but nothing. No one else can smell it which doesn't help. OH has cleared out the fridge throwing everything away and starting again, all been disinfected but still there is this smell that makes me feel sick all the time.

If I remember correctly, last time it went in the 3rd trimester to be replaced by constant heartburn, what fun to look forward to :D

No problems with smells as of yet... im only 6 weeks :S

Nibbling is definitely helping with the nausea and the metallic taste but im supposed to be losing a bit of weight along the way so can't nibble too much!

I got my Booking in Appt date today which im looking forward too - don't care how boring it might be, it will just feel more real :)

Hope all went well at your scan bikelesschick. Look forward to hearing how it went.

Kitten Pie have you tried putting a pot of bicarb in the fridge to absorb any odours? Or you could try wiping the fridge over with a solution of bicarb and water.

For those of you with a metallic taste in your mouth, I believe that vinegar is also meant to get rid of the taste (I ate salt and vinegar crisps).
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

    Hey SM,

Yep tried all that, beginning to think it is all in my head. My sense of smell was really strong last time. One of the first things that made me think that I was pg was when I started smelling gas and OH couldn't - the hob had accidently been turned on.:o

Aww sorry to hear nothing has worked so far kitten - my sense of smell is really strong too (it was pre-pregnancy too, but now I'm like a bloodhound). The smells that really turn me off are those that are chemically (Moon had to change his conditioner as it smelled really artificial), body odours, cigarette smoke and oranges.

I am ok with cigarette smoke, but then that is because i smoked once upon a time and still miss it a little.

I get by ok, just have lots of nice smelling things around. Daffodils are helping :D just need to make sure I get rid of them before they start smelling bad.

Still it is a nice reminder and will hopefully be worth it in the end.

Aw Kitten my sense of smell is really strong too. My fridge turns my stomach even though it is perfectly clean, and certain cleaning materials make me want to vom too. The smell if cheese is just vile at the minute, and flowers make me want to sneeze, and sneezing makes me do the horrible mini-sick. So not glamorous being pregnant :rotfl:

with me its the strong smells as well, funny someone mentioned bloodhound, thats what ive been joking with oh ive been like, every smell i can smell it about 10 minutes before he can.

This weekend has been mad, the smells of bbq everywhere and i went to put my kitchen food recycling waste out and opening the lid nearly made me heave, the smell was super strong!

hoping your scan went good bikelesschick, let us know if you get a chance.

havent really had the metallic taste in my mouth and from what i remember i didnt get it even at 12 weeks before i mc. Am i weird for not having it?
Im still early just 5 weeks at the moment, so not really having loads of symptoms, cooking smells mainly and sorry for the tmi but my nipples are really hard and standing out (and can be seen through my t-shirt if i have a thinish bra on) and i havent even got the excuse its cold or anything, oh just laughed at me when i showed him, i put an apron on to do the dishes and the apron brushed past them and it was so painful!

I don't have a metallic taste Cleofish and I never did with DD either. Its just one of them symptoms that sometimes people get and sometimes they don't. I literally had it for 1 day during my pregnancy with DD and that was the day I got my +ve test.

My sense of smell isn't that bad yet, but I am only 4+1 so a lot of ladies wouldn't even realise they were pregnant yet. Am sure it will come soon enough so I won't wish it upon myself :rotfl:

The only symptom I seem to have is a bloated feeling in my tummy and a lot more wind than usual!! And I didn't have either of those symptoms in my last pregnancy from what I can remember.

I haven't had any metallic taste at all, and not much sickness yet either, I'm 7+1 weeks. I have got insanely sore/itchy nipples though, and I'm already growing out of the new bras I bought 3 weeks ago :eek:god knows what size I'll end up, already a 36G. Can't bring myself to go near the fridge/bin either, and DH is still away so I'll have to brave it later to get some dinner! Can't wait for him to get home, haven't seen him since Thursday morning :o
