    Evening ladies :)
Back from the hen weekend, had an amazing time. While we were on the canal boat the bridesmaids had arranged a butler in the buff to serve us drinks etc, was highly amusing ;)

Got midwife booking in on Friday, and got my scan date in the post - Monday 30th April, can't wait! :D

    Hello Ladies

Thought I best introduce myself on here, eekkkk :j

I'm Abi, aged 30, currently 4 weeks pregnant with #2. Its my DH's 1st baby tho, so all new for him. DD is nearly 6 so it seems all new to me too at the mo!

Still a bit cautious that it may be chemical, as I tested early and have have my BFP for 3 days already, but so far so good. Keep POAS on my IC tests, and the line is darkening nicely every morning.

Not feeling too bad overall. Tummy feels a bit stretchy and mild cramps at times. I am finding myself very gassy, which I presume is indegestion slowing down. Feeling very tired as well today, so will be having an early night.

It still seems a bit surreal. Was TTC for 5 months and waiting to TTC for a couple of years before that. Have told my best friend and thats all for now.

I have started keeping a journal of feelings etc. I never wrote anything down with DD and I didn't have a proper camera back then, so didn't take enough photos either. Want to have some better memories this time so am aiming to record a lot more if I can.

Hope to get to know you all better over then next few weeks

    Ladies,

I hope you are all having a good morning and not feeling to rough...I was very good with my healthy eating this weekend and stuck to it, even through a BBQ!

I have a little moan however, the metallic taste in my mouth is driving me mad! How are any of you who are suffering with it getting round it?

Quick responses would be most appreciated as i'm going crazy here :) xxx

Water with a slice of lemon in it!!! Does the trick for me!
  • I was going to suggest citrusy stuff as well - satsumas and the like.

bikelesschick- good luck for your scan and your booking in appointment tomorrow, what scan have you got? how many weeks are you?
Try not to worry about birth defects, i know its hard with the internet but like you said hopefully your midwife will be cool and calm and reassure you. Let us know how it goes.

It's the first one, I'm 11+2. I've not met the mw or anything. Thank you for the advice, I'll speak to her (?him) about it.

    Welcome and congrats Abi!

The metallic taste didn't really bother me - I found it quite a reassuring early symptom before I had many others, e.g. sickness, to rely on.

What did bother me were the smells though. Something in my bedroom smelt of this weird rubbery smell and everytime I'd fall exhausted into bed I'd start sniffing trying to work out what this horrible smell was.

The worst was when I took objection to my best friend's perfume. How do you tell someone that they make you feel sick? :o:D
