ikkle87 - I deffo need to lose some weight (slowly I know!) and not put on any excess weight through the whole thing... I haven't met the midwife yet but i know she will start spouting off about my weight and complications etc from the minute she meets me.
Despite having low cholesterol, a good BP, no joint problems, no shortness of breath when doing mild excercise etc and can swim 70 lengths in an hour (although jelly legs when i get out!) I am constantly listening to lecturers from people about being overweight...:(:jBaby Boy born December 20120 -

ah, my midwife didn't bully me or lecture me, i was already doing slimming world and she said that was fine, try my best but don't put too much pressure on myself but that if i lost weight it would be beneficial. She also said don't eat extra just because I'm pregnant, the baby needs very little extra calories and not until the last trimester anyway. You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

I'm overweight (a lot more so than I look, if you see what I mean) and when I saw my midwife for my booking in appointment she weighed me, said that I'd need a glucose tolerance test because my BMI was around 33, and left it at that. Literally no other comments, and I was really steeling myself for them.
To be honest, as long as you're sensible about what you eat once you get to this point you've overcome the biggest hurdle of being overweight which is actually to conceive. Don't worry too much0 -
I have asked to be referred to the dietitian because my weight is getting out of hand. My midwife just said to not put pressure on myself.
My problem is that I haven't lost the weight from the twins in October and have been comfort eating since plus not moving because my ligaments are still screwed. However as I said to the midwife, I know the reasons for it but still want to be as healthy as possible for mini_cub.Overdraft = £1000 Emergency fund = £2500

I could also do with losing weight, my BMI is about 31. When I asked the GP about continuing to count calories etc, she told me to stop trying to lose weight. Have continued calorie counting though, just changed my target to maintain rather than lose. I'm going to aim not to put on too much surplus weight, and keep active with swimming, pilates and walking for as long as I can.Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160

All I've had today is a crumpet and a bit of lemon cake......everything tastes funny....even my butter tastes and smells like margarine....yuk
On the plus side no real pains to speak of today.
My first clue I might be PG was my mug of bovril tasted really odd, weird.0 -
Last time around I completely went off coffee, and I'm usually a coffee drinker. I'd get to about 11.30 and realise that I hadn't finished my first cup, when usually I would have done about 4 or 5 cups by then.
I mainly ate citrus things, as they tasted nice and fresh. Satsumas and jaffa cakes made up most of my diet!0 -

Well yesterday I just had lots of cramps and felt very tired. I am also noticing that i have the urge to eat things i never would have before like raw peppers, boiled egg, soy sauce on salmon.... very weird!!! Seeing my GP on Friday to start the ball rolling - OH can't get away from work and he is gutted but I have told him it would be a nothingness appt anyway and he wont miss anything....
We told a couple we are close friends with and they are the only ones, they lent us the pregnancy book from the nhs so OH has been reading it a bit (aaahhh!)

hi everyone.
littlemoog- sorry to hear you had a some morning sickness today, i used to use ginger biscuits and then i tried them when i wasnt pregnant and it brought back all the memories about feeling sick in the mornings which was weird! I used to use some old style boiled fruit sweets that i found helped as well.
how many weeks are you now?
i used to do slimming world and got down to a good weight but since the pregnancy and miscarriage last year ive been eating far too much and put some of it back on, im not going to try and calorie count though going to try and go back to slimming world (just at home with my book) as i used to make a lot more meals from scratch like currys and bolongnese that were healthy versions (such as nat yoghurt instead of cream) that sort of thing.and i used really enjoy cooking. havent had any sickness yet so going to try and healthy up my diet at the moment.
just getting bloating and headaches at night at the moment and feeling like i need to wee all the time, oh the joys!
hope everyone has a good night.0
