sexymouse- i normally take omperazole for my heartburn.I find it helps.
Ive only just found out sunday as well and the only thing really im having at the moment is really bad bloating after a meal, i eat and then i have to lie flat for a little while as everything seems really bunged up and really uncomfortable.
I looked it up and in early pregnancy ive seen thats its due to increased progesterone levels (helping beanie to settle in) slowing your digestion system down to make sure more nutrients come out of your food before they get passed. So it slows the time between your mouth and the other end!
Im finding it really uncomfortable though, they advise to eat more smaller meals, so might have to try that.
anyone else having bad headaches? im not sure if it has anything to do with the hormones or the fact ive tried to give up/cut down caffeine although i never used to drink much to begin with- maybe 2 cups of tea and a glass of diet coke in a day?
everyones meals plans sound good, im trying to have more fruit, adding it to cereal or snacking on it. i used to be really good but slipped by the way since christmas, back to it now though.:T0 -
Pretty much all of the nasty symptoms in pregnancy are caused by progesterone unfortunately. It is also thought to be responsible for morning sickness. I've had quite a few headaches recently cleo - midwife said if you were prone to them before pregnancy, the hormones may make them worse during. Constipation and bloating was really bad for me in the first few weeks (may also be a reason for your headaches), but the good news is, it started to ease by about week 6.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170

Evening Ladies,
Can I please finally join? I know some of you from the TTC thread, so nice to see you all!
I just got my positive today so only 4 weeks gone.
I'm 32 and have been trying for a baby since the beginning of April last year. I had a MC in October at 5wk 4 days so not keeping my hopes up at this stage. I also haven't told my OH that I'm pregnant purely because he is abroad and is very stressed at the moment. I will see him on 4th April at his parents' so I might not even tell him till the 9th when we come back to London (I know my OH, he will tell his mum straight away and I want to avoid the cuddles/kisses/questions/etc). It will be hard but I can do it! As someone said on the TTC thread, it's another 2ww for me
.
I will also not tell anyone this pregnancy till the 12th week (well, apart from my best friend), I want to see and hear a heartbeat first.0 -

Hi Ladies,
Well yesterday I just had lots of cramps and felt very tired. I am also noticing that i have the urge to eat things i never would have before like raw peppers, boiled egg, soy sauce on salmon.... very weird!!! Seeing my GP on Friday to start the ball rolling - OH can't get away from work and he is gutted but I have told him it would be a nothingness appt anyway and he wont miss anything....
We told a couple we are close friends with and they are the only ones, they lent us the pregnancy book from the nhs so OH has been reading it a bit (aaahhh!)
Am 5+1 today and waiting til 12 weeks seems like soooooo far away

Morning ladies

Had my first bout of morning sickness this morning, went out to the car and put my stuff in, and then had to run back in the house retching
the school kids walking past me looked most alarmed!
Wasn't actually sick, and managed to eat a ginger biscuit which seemed to stop it. I've always eaten my breakfast at work, but I think I need to be eating something before I leave the house in the mornings now!
Welcome Kavics  glad to see you over here, hope you can hold out until you tell your OH as planned. I had thought of doing something clever, but in the end I just burst into tears in the bathroom and then ran through and woke DH up by waving the digi in his face! :rotfl:Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 2016

Back from doctor's with omeprazole for my heartburn. Fingers crossed it works tonight.
It will do, sm. It might take a day or so to fully kick in as it works differently to other types of acid reflux medicines. Basically it stops your stomach producing the acid in the first place, rather than merely neutralise it, so it can take a day or so for everything to calm down. Make sure you take it religiously and I find it helps to take it at the same time everyday (I take it first thing in the morning)."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
Welcome to all the newly pregnant ladies,

Diszi I would put a food diary up but compared to yours its crap. Yesterday I had a currant teacake, tuna pasta salad, a small fudge chocolate bar, 2 satsuma's and a bit of ben and jerrys ice cream.
i'm doing slimming world and my midwife wants me to lose some weight but she told me to make sure I still have some fats as they are good for the baby or something. You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.
xx Mama to a gorgeous Cranio Baby xx
