Lalaland11 - did you say you were going back today? Any news?
Congrats dizsiebubba! I didn't know where to start when I found out either so don't worry too much about it. There's plenty of time! I've found advice on here invaluable so feel free to ask anything!
30_something - congrats!
Sexymouse - I hope you're feeling better and good luck with scan tomorrow!
I've not had a great weekend myself. Felt really nauseated late afternoon yesterday (which was unusual for me) and then started getting really sharp pains in the stomach so I had to call the doctor.
All is good though, just a tummy bug. Well, things are not great, I had to spend the whole day in bed, but YKWIM, good with the preg.
He gave me something for the nausea, only for me to find out this morning on the nhs website that pregnant women musn't take these tablets:eek: I'd obviously told the doc I was pregnant and he told me the tablets were safe for pregnant women so I'm not impressed. At least I only took one, so I'm sure it'll be fine.
Well, here's a brand new and lovely week  (alcohol free of course!).:jBaby girl born 3rd October 2012:j0 -

Very quick question ladies.

alamaya I'm having the NT today, but have no intention of having an amnio or CVS if the risks come back as high - I've read that it's possible to get a false reading on the NT and have a completely healthy baby, and I'd rather have a baby with Down's or spina bifida (unless it would have a poor quality of life) than no baby at all if I miscarry. Just my personal thoughts - I'm not judging anyone else's decisions at all. It's more a case of trying to prepare ourselves for the fact that they may have these conditions so that we can learn more about how to look after the baby than to help us decide whether to keep it.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170

Woke up this morning with a stinking headache again, and felt sick earlier. I hope I'm going to be ok and that it's just nerves or something. I think I'm going to do what I did last time when I had my early scan, and empty my bladder around 9, then have small glasses of water for the next 2 hours (scan at 11.15). They said my bladder was nice and full last time and it wasn't too uncomfortable - it was more the psychological factor that made me feel like I was going to burst. I did check out where the toilets were so that I could rush there straight afterwards last time, but not 100% sure if the department we're going to today will be in the same area as the EPU was.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170

Sexymouse, I could have cried while I was waiting for mine, my bladder was so full and I thought I'd wee myself the second the sonographer pressed on my tummy! I told her this when I went in the room and she said to go empty my bladder a little as often if it's too full they struggle to get a clear picture (probably because you squirm too much if it's too full). If you think your bladder is too full for you to manage to get through the scan they let them know. The toilets were right next to the scanning rooms in my hospital.
You will probably find you have to wait longer for this scan than you did for the early one as they book quite a few people in at similar times and it gets back logged quickly. Mine was booked for 9am and we got there 15 mins early but weren't seen until 9:20. So I wouldn't go overboard with the drinking if you are like me and your bladder fills up quickly.

Good advice emsbet. I think last time, it only took 2 glasses of water to fill me up - I think I must have quite a small bladder. Certainly when I walked past one of the waiting rooms (I presume the antenatal one), it was absolutely packed, so hoping they aren't too late. I think they did have a water machine down the corridor, so I suppose I could leave drinking a little less and top up when I get there.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170
