Congratulations Jules!
Hugs to Mishka. Please try not to worry, I'm sure it's perfectly normal for symptoms to come and go.
I've felt much better the last couple of days so I'm hoping that I'm past the worst of the nausea now. That's one symptom I definitely won't miss. My scan is on Monday so not too long to wait now. It seemed so long away at the start but now I can't believe it's almost time. I'm excited but a little nervous too. I just want them to say that everything is as it should be. I've got no reason to think otherwise so I'm trying to think positive. What I am a bit worried about though is having to have a full bladder. I've never been very good at that - when I need to go I need to go - and I'm worried about having an accident whilst I'm being scanned!0 -
Elelyn I have the same problem with my bladder having to be full for a scan. When I had my early scan, I went for a wee before I left the house, and then drank 2 glasses of water. As soon as I got to the hospital, I located the toilets, so that I could rush straight to them when I came out. The lady doing the scan said my bladder was nice and full, and I told her I never have a problem with that! lol I did discover that there was a water machine further down the corridor, so if the worst comes to the worst, I could always have drunk some when I got there. I expect it'll be the same for you too. What time of the day is your scan? I always find that I need a wee more in the mornings than I do in the afternoons for some reason.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170

My scan is at 9.00am sexymouse. I'm terrible when I have to go anywhere - even if it's a really short journey I'll go to the loo right before I leave the house but by the time I get where I'm going I'll be desperate to go again! I'm the same if we go to the theatre or a concert too. I always have to make sure we get seats on the end of an aisle because I panic about needing to go half way through and being trapped in my seat. I'm sure it must be party psychological but I can't help it. Hopefully on Monday the thought of seeing my little prune on the screen will help me to control myself a bit!0

I know completely what you mean Elelyn - I'm exactly the same. Wherever we go, I have to locate all of the possible toilets enroute just in case. Sometimes I think I need to go, and I really don't. I think it's a form of anxiety. If I'm in any situation where I know it's not going to be possible to go the loo, I start to sweat and get hot flushes that start at my feet and work their way upwards. When I was little I used to wet myself a lot as I had a weak bladder, and I think I'm always panicking that I'm not going to make it to the loo in time. Before I got pregnant, I was seriously considering seeing a doctor about it.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170

sexymouse you've just described me exactly! It's nice to know I'm not the only person with this problem. I think you're right about it being a form of anxiety but I can't pinpoint what triggered it for me. When I was a child I was the complete opposite and used to go all day without going to the loo! I did see a doctor about it at one point and she just gave me some information about bladder training which I had some success with but I didn't keep it up and now I seem to be worse than ever. I'd love to not be like this because I find it really affects my life - I get very stressed if I have to go into long meetings at work because I don't want to embarrass myself by having to excuse myself because I can't wait. Long journeys and holidays abroad where you're never sure when the next toilet stop is going to be are also a nightmare for me.0

I'm a teacher, and we were going on a school trip on a coach - being primary, there was a toilet at the back. For some reason we were sitting outside the school for ages before we left, and the head wouldn't let me go back inside to use the loo. I had to ask the bus driver to unlock the bus and go on the coach. I got in there and there was no loo roll, and the coach started to move. It was a nightmare. The person leading the trip didn't plan in many toilet breaks for the kids, let alone adults, and I had a half hour leg cross in between stops later on in the trip too - it was a nightmare. Goodness knows why I chose to get a job as an exam invigilator too! The exams in March are about 2 1/2 hours long, so I've said I won't be available for those.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170

That sounds horrible. It's so annoying when trip organisers don't plan in comfort breaks. It's frustrating too when you know that theoretically you should be able to hold it in for that long, and actually you probably can but you're convinced you can't and the more you think about it the more uncomfortable and panicky you get! I'm going to stop talking about this now because it's making me need a wee!!!0

:rotfl:I know I shouldn't laugh, but at least in a few weeks or so, when it's common knowledge that we are pregnant in real life, at least people should be more understanding.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -
Odd. I didn't need a full bladder for my 12 week scan, only the 20 week one."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

Well went to antenatal clinic for my bloods and saw another lovely midwife, she took bloods and we had a really nice chat. I've declined a nuchal folds scan and am booked in for my dating scan on the 28th march. I should be 12 + 2 then
have also got my booking in appointment too.
Midwives have upped my folic acid dosage to 5mg instead of 400μg too, so i started those today.
welcome aboard Jules, and congrats xxYou never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.
xx Mama to a gorgeous Cranio Baby xx
