Lovely to hear all the good news! Really sorry to rant but can I??
Had to take a day off last week with sickness. We have an absence management service that we report to who are separate from my employers. We report our absence, they will then let our employer know that we're off, what the cause is and whether the absence will trigger any further action (eg warning for too many absences within a short time period). When I reported, I gave them the reason as vomiting, and gave them permission to share this with my line manager. When we got to the 'confidential' bit of the call, which they are not allowed to relay to my employer, I explained that it was pregnancy related in order to make sure it doesn't count towards an absence trigger. I said I was only 8 weeks (at the time), that I habdn't told anyone, and said again that I wanted this kept confidential.
Hmmm. My line manager called me this afternoon- we do catch up chats after any illness. He was a bit confused as the report said reason for absence- 'unknown and undisclosed' secondary information- 'morning sickness- pregnancy'. !!!!!!
He was lovely, asked me if there was anything I wanted to say, I said no (I'm only 9 weeks). He said 'typical them, they've cocked up, I'll sign this off no problem'. At the end of the call (we talked for about an hour about other stuff) he said 'well take care, and if there is anything you want to talk to me about, give me a ring when you're ready. Remember to use your flexi if you feel like it'.
Don't get me wrong, he was really really nice, but we're going through a restructure that won't be finalised until April. If he tells his line manager, then I'm pretty sure my job will suddenly be under consultation and not needed after April.

Firstly, let's hope your line manager says nothing (I fully expect that he'll keep quiet).
Secondly, if your role disappears and there's anything, anything at all, that leads you to suspect that your pregnancy has become known and is a factor, you bang in an official grievance pronto. It is absolutely against employment law to make someone redundant because they are pregnant and you must be firm if you think this is the case.
Thirdly, stick in an official complaint about the third party absence recording agency. What they've done (albeit by accident no doubt) is absolutely not acceptable and they need to review their processes.

Hello all,
I am lots and lots better, back home (overnight stay in hosp) and had my scan today.
I am 10 weeks +1 and all is happy and healthy. Have another scan in 4 weeks for a proper look over as its still a tiny thing. But it was having a good wiggle away while we were watching
Really relieved all is well

Hi fishcake
Sorry to hear you were in hospital overnight, hopefully things will start to improve. Did they give you any anti sickness tablets?
Glad that you got to see baby even though it was tiny.
Look after you and your little wriggler
