Well according to online calculators I'm 5+4 today. Have been feeling nauseous on and off for the last few days, but felt particularly bad yesterday. Eating doesn't seem to help as I'm getting really bad bloating and indigestion, and sorry if TMI but when I burp, I feel like I'm going to be sick. I got a book from the library (BabyCentre book by Dorling Kindersley - quite good) on Friday, and so I've been reading some of it to Moon. I think it helped him to feel a bit more excited rather than worried, and we told one of his friends yesterday as they invited us over for coffee and I was feeling yuck, so felt I had to explain (I asked for decaff, which luckily they had in). We ended up staying for dinner in the end, and I started to feel a bit better as the evening went on. I think the ginger beer they gave me helped, so I may have to get some in. The wife said that a fellow nurse where she worked recommended lemonade to her, and it helped a lot.
Elelyn I would definitely write an email of complaint to Mothercare customer services - as others have said, it was very unprofessional of her at the least, and she shouldn't be allowed to get away with upsetting customers like that. You may get some vouchers in compensation too, which would be helpful. I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and get some new bras soon. Pre-pregnancy, I was a 34B, but they are all getting tight now (great news as I've always wanted bigger boobs).
Student_Mrs I hope your lesson observations go well - I remember how stressful I used to find them. Fingers crossed for you.
Laura I hope the scan went well.
mishka I'm glad your DH knows now - sorry the reaction wasn't what you expected. My sister just said Oh when I told her too, and my Dad didn't have much of a reaction either. I expect your husband is trying not to get too excited or attached because you've had a miscarriage previously. Hugs for you.
Hugs to all who need or want them.

OK, I have a new thing today. The muscles at the very bottom of my back and in my buttocks feel really tense today. They are not painful so I'm not worried it's anything wrong, but they just feel tense and I can't get them to relax. Most strange! Anyone else had this or am I just a weirdo

The bottom of my back has had tension in it, but can't say my buttocks have emsbet - I'm guessing it's a good sign though, as if your bottom muscles are tight, you'll be toning your bum!Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170

I suspect its sciatica, we were talking about it a few pages back. I get it alot when pregnant as there is extra 'pressure' things get pushed onto the nerve. To me it feels like someone has got hold of the muscle and has tightened it from my bum to my knee, its a sharp short of pinching feeling - its weird. try a cushion or pillow at the small of your back to move how you are sitting.

 they wouldnt be my friend after that !
I was doing some research last night about how to ease morning sickness, I have the sea bands which do nothing, and found many people use VIT B6. I trotted off to the pharmacy this morning and it states on the bottle to check with GP before using, the pharmacist also said I should see GP first. Im reluctant to get an appt as its just a waste, do you think i could get it ok'd over the phone ? anyone else tried it ? I have pregnacare which contains it but you need 3 x that amount for it to work.Bow Ties ARE cool "Just because you are offended, doesnt mean you are right" Ricky Gervais0 -

It feels like I'm tensing my bum. I just had a little bit of a panic because it remined me all of a sudden of the tension/pressure I felt in my bum after they had given me the drugs to force the contractions to start when I had my mmc but I've sat and thought about it and that was lower down in my bum, this is at the top so I think it's probably what you said.mishkanorman wrote: »I was doing some research last night about how to ease morning sickness, I have the sea bands which do nothing, and found many people use VIT B6. I read that about b6 too and used to take it while TTC as it is supposed to help prevent mc too but I've always stopped when I got a BFP as it's in the pregnancy vits I have. I didn't realise it wasn't a high enough dose though.

Happy Monday everyone!
Laura, thanks for that. I'm still getting a bit of nausea, but not much, and I've heard from various sources that it seems to settle down around 9/10 weeks for a lot of people. Hurrah!
Emsbet, I second Mishka - it does sound like sciatica, which is a sod. I have it usually, but weirdly since I got to about 5/6 weeks, it has gone, which makes me think that maybe in my case everything pushing differently has sorted it out a bit!
Mishka, that was a bit of an underwhelming response from your OH, how are you feeling about it?
I've not tried the vitamin B6 thing, but I did read on another forum that people were swearing by eating Marmite, which has lots of B-vitamins in it (albeit not much B6). Maybe worth a go, if you're not a 'hate it'?!
I bought Miriam Stoppard's pregnancy book from the charity shop last week, got half way through it and gave up. She's such a bossy boots! Her 'eating healthily' section should be renamed 'how to diet in pregnancy', and there's no allowance for the fact that for about 2 weeks in early pregnancy you can only eat (for example) jaffa cakes and clementines. So. I wouldn't recommend her pregnancy book (although it might have been my hormones which made me so unreasonably angry at her!).
I can't decide if I've lost or gained weight. I've been eating pretty much constantly for the last 8 weeks, but it's been a really mixed bag and i'm not eating meals with it. I have got a podge-pouch on my belly, but I actually think that it's because I can't hold my stomach in any more (there's no room!) rather than because it has suddenly appeared. Overall I think maybe I've lost a bit, because I've stopped drinking. I have no actual idea though - I don't weigh myself, ever, it just depresses me.0 -

I just got up and went and made myself a cup of tea and it felt better standing so I think you ladies are right. I'm so annoyed with myself for having a bit of a panic about it especially as I have been "wobbly" this weekend, worrying it will end the same way as the last too. I'm trying so hard to stay positive as I know it's the best thing but sometimes my worries get the better of me

Just wondered, is anyone keeping a pregnancy diary? I was thinking of getting a nice diary or notebook and putting in my thoughts/symptoms, so that I can look back on them all, as I really enjoyed looking at the stuff my Mum had kept from her pregnancies with us, now that I'm pregnant.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170

his response was quite expected, im fully aware he is happy with our family as it is at the moment -although he will be thrilled with another - this has always been my longing and after the trauma of last time i really would be kidding myself that he would be jumping up and down happy ! He did his goofy laugh which i know means he is pleased.
I am a hater i'm afraid, and with my queasy stomach i dont think i could force marmite in !
as for miriam stoppard, i think she is in a similar vein to Gina ford who are both very regimented in their approach, im not a fan either i have to say.Bow Ties ARE cool "Just because you are offended, doesnt mean you are right" Ricky Gervais0
