Morning ladies
I feel like poo this morning. Hope everyone else is ok. Whenever I am walking along I have to stop in fear that I will throw up. Plus I am at work - so it makes it very hard. Have any of you ladies told your work that you are pregnant?xx

I am the same at the moment Hayley. I haven't actually thrown up but I feel sick pretty much constantly now.
This morning when I got to work I felt for the first time that I might actually be sick. One of my managers then asked me to attend a meeting this morning - I've had to warn her that I don't feel very well just in case I end up having to dash out of the meeting. I could do without it today to be honest. I was also nibbling on a ginger biscuit when she spoke to me so although I haven't told her the reason I am ill she may have guessed!
I think I am going to tell her next week (I will be 8 weeks on Monday) as I have my midwife appointment on Thursday and I'm entitled to paid time off for it. I don't want to use my own time if I don't have to! I will ask her to keep the news to herself, I don't want the rest of my colleagues to know just yet, but it's probably a good idea for someone to know just in case I get taken ill at work or have an accident or something. I'm quite scared about telling her though - I don't know how she will react.0 -
My head of department knows, as I had a couple of days off early in the year as I had some spotting - my mind was really not on work, and then we had a scan which showed a heartbeat.
I've also been 'sussed' by a couple of my colleages. We're all quite close and go out to lunch, and drink together, so it was quite obvious when I stopped that. Plus, you know. I was really sick on Monday morning!
I've not done the official telling of the MD yet, I keep um-ing and ah-ing about it. I don't want to too early, but then I keep being late because no matter how early I get the bus, I still have to walk very slowly from the bus stop to work so I don't throw up.0 -

I'm really scared about telling my boss - as I don't know how he will react - and I don't want him blabbing to everyone. Plus my work is so male orientated - I am worried that I will get victimised... I just don't know when the right time to tell them will be, but then again, I suppose there is never a 'right time'.0 -
I think your boss has to keep the news confidential if you ask him to. If mine blabbed when I'd specifically asked her not to I would have no hesitation in reporting her and going through the grievance procedure! But hopefully it won't come to that. And your colleagues will probably be more supportive than you think.0

Who cares what your boss thinks? There are very strict laws to protect pregnant workers. Don't feel intimidated by a male environment. I bet some of them have got kids - they might even be really excited for you!"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
I am going to bite the bullet and tell him today... Will post when I have told him..... Eekkkkkk.0

Told my manager.... Wow, what a huge weight lifted. He was fine about it. I have asked him to keep quiet, and he has said that he will, apart from telling his boss, and of course HR. Scary, scary. But that is over and done with
Have a good day xxx
