welcome to all the new people :o) have my booking in appt tomorrow with the midwife, looking forward to this, i am 6+4 today so it feels a bit early but the midwife said this time of the year with christmas slowing things down its best to get me in and get my scan booked for new year.

explaining avoidance of alcohol to people must be difficult - luckily i rarely drink so hasnt been a problem for me. like the idea of antibiotics though and the excuse of detox in the new year or a new years resolution of giving up.

rups - i have had a bit of discharge, as long as its not bloody i dont think there is anything to worry about. you should read some baby books to put your mind at rest. its also really nice to read about the development of your baby....next week my babies heart will start to beat which is amazing.

thanks to the ladies who pop in who are further along who offer advice.

Hiya, new account because my current account is known by my family and most don't know "we're" pregnant.

Got rushed in this week because according to the midwife we're 13wks, but we thought 8. Had a scan which confirmed 8, the babies heart is beating 155-165 so we've been told much less chance of anything going wrong, but we've got to revisit after Christmas for another scan.

We've told our parents, but finding it difficult not to tell our friends. We're due on the 26th July

We were particularly suprised because we've been trying for two years. We'd just started looking into fertility treatment. The internal ultrasound showed no reason why not (thought we might have PCOS like a couple of other friends that started trying around the same time) - about two weeks later must have happened on its own!

Just booked NCT classes - they were pretty much full for our EDD because their courses go over two months and the earlybirds were getting in there...

  • We didn't hear it - the baby is only the size of a finger tip, so we were both very suprised to hear the heart was so developed. I think it starts beating at about 7 weeks. I think you can hear it at 12 wks when the baby is about 45mm big.

At my scans, I seem to remember seeing it rather than hearing it? If you're lucky the midwife will let you listen, but it seems to vary by area when.
