haha thats funny. with me i can only take 2 glasses of wine before i get drunk so i can say i am satying sensible. i dont know. as much as i would love to tell friends, better to wait till 12 weeks. we are already 5 now, so not long hey? cant wait to see the midwife. have you been to the gp yet penguin? ohh chrissy what leaflet did you get? i got nothing. the gp couldnt wait to get rid of me! :0( i got the sore boobs and some weird cramps too esp on the right side. i always sleep onmy tummy and now i cant even do that as the boobs are quite sore and sometimes i feel 'some weird pain' so i stay to the side. grr
I never got a leaflet from my GP either - don't feel left out lol.0 -
lol i guess every gp is different. i hope my midwife is nice otherwise i am going to get annoyed. talking of annoyed.. this girl at work who i thought was my friend really annoyed me.. i thought she was a friend but she clearly isnt. :-(
she always stayed by herself as she is quiet and the gang of girls downstairs kept her outside their circle, so we hung out and went shopping, and eventually i found out that she is quite sad in life because she wants to get married and have a family, like we all do. so i said to be patient and it will happen. anyway she used to get annoyed that she is single and that other girls who have had bfs or slept around have also been married. Then i realised when it came to me getting married, she started being distant with me and didnt come to the wedding. i was quite upset at that.. so i left it and she never contacted me even though would bump into her at work..
so i stupidly emailed her a few weeks ago and asked why she did that and just cut me off. so she said she had issues thats why. i still couldnt understand that but i let it go and started going shopping with her and stuff, and today she mailed me and just said a few nasty things and i got upset. i dont get some women at times..:( and i never learn! actually i have learnt now! sorry long rant..Became Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

Welcome to all the newly PG ladies
Just a bit about my experience following on from Rup's posts. Our visit to the GP appeared to be just a formality to get a referral to the midwife since it's not a medical illness/issue. We had our questions answered, so we were told the risks and told that all exercise was fine except for bungee jumping and parachuting. Wasn't told anything else, but referred to a website (sorry forgot which one, but it's an official one as I refuse to 'google'!) and to start taking pregnacare - which I did straight away.
I had bleeding from week 7 - but this has stopped. For now. First MW appointment tomorrow and we have our 12 week scan on 6 January. We had a scan at 8 weeks because of the bleeding. Bean was 13mm. They could not have found a heartbeat at any earlier week so Bikerchick, you've not missed out.
I'm just taking each day at a time. I'm happy to trust my body to do the best it can and am taking as best care of myself as I can. Only GP and OH know at the moment. We'll tell after 12 weeks I think. It's easy to explain the non-drinking with an antibiotics story to get through Christmas parties and then in the New Year it's easy to say a resolution is to have a detox month.
Good luck everyone.0 -
Dunno how anyone can enjoy these 1st 12 weeks of hell. I can't plan anything as I never know if I will be bad sick or not. I so far hate being pregnant and so far won't be repeating the experience!0

Hi Rups! Its difficult deciding who to tell and when! I worry about telling my mum coz my my friend who is having problems is my mum's best friend's daughter so she's worrying enough about her already so don't want her to worry about me too! Yeah u are right, they will be v happy for u but its difficult saying something when people are having a tough time. Decisions decisions!! Congratulations to u too! Its pretty exciting isn't it but seems so long until it will be time for a scan! Not been to the doctors yet but am booked in to go tomorrow afternoon. I am such a worryer I don't think I'll be happy until I've seen the baby! Lol! Have u been yet?x0

Penguin i went yest and the gp was weird. i had questions but everytime she said something, she was like 'ok take care now' lol. so she faxed some letter across and said some one would write to me regarding meeting the midwife in a few weeks time. that was it! no leaflets noting. i had to ask her about what to eat or not! she was miserable. hope your gp will be better than mine. :0)Became Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!
