Don't worry ladies, I was 13+3 when I had my scan, and the detail was great. I got one at 9+4 and the difference in the the detail was amazing. At 9 weeks, it's more beanie like, whereas at 13 you can see spine, arms, legs etc :)

I know but it just seems so unfair, the doctor/midwife has known sine i was 5 weeks, i just want to know everything is okay. I've had a very odd pregnancy without a lot of symptoms and with mc scares the wait is just making me even more upset and stressed :(

It could be too in your area they do the Nuchal test at scan, so you have to wait until round 13/14 weeks, as it has to be done then. I understand, but please try and not fret. I went to my doctor at 3/4 weeks pregnant and was referred for a scan as she was adamant I was 2 weeks further on, even though I knew I wasn't.

It may also be there are a lot of pregnant ladies in your area and the wait is longer, I know whenever I go to the hospital it is always rammed with pregnant ladies waiting to be seen for whatever reason.

If you're really worried is there any way or paying for a private scan? Even for peace of mind, as stress isn't good for beanie.

Hello everyone, another newbie hoping to join in with this thread!

I am approx 4 +3 today, just booked to see the doctor next week to get the ball rolling. Found out last week, OH and I are over the moon! No major symptoms yet, apart from boobs getting slowly bigger and achier, and already quite tired - got told I look exhausted this morning at work, and I couldn't stop yawning!

Skintchick - have everything crossed for you.
Starfish - I have a 9 year old DD too; can't wait to tell her!
alizee - just saw your post about the scan, how frustrating! I'm already thinking a week is going to feel like forever at this rate.

Welcome Triangle, Dizziblonde and Museumworker! :D

I am counting down to Wednesday, when I can ring up to book my scan. Will be nice to have a date in the diary.

I really just want to be able to tell people - everyone now looks at my tummy when they ask me how I am! :rotfl: It's so obvious, especially as all my clothes show my bump - I have hardly anything loose and all my maternity clothes are cut to show a bump off, not disguise one!

Oh Kaemi - at booking in they also ask about any congenital 'defects' like heart problems and stuff in your family, so worth asking your family. First time I went I didn;t know - there really ought to be a list they give you before you go so you can find it all out.

Take a wee sample (your GP reception can give you a suitable container to do it in), they do bloods, loads of questions for your notes, they ask you where you want to give birth even though you probably have no idea at that stage (you can change your mind later though) and they just go through your health and pregnancy history really.

  • Morning ladies :)

Congrats on 12 weeks Laura :) And good luck for the scan today Jennynoo :)

 to Triangle, Dizziblonde and Museumworker :D

Well, I am 7+3 today and had a bit of a panic yesterday :o (Sorry TMI!) For the last few days I have had a bit of a burning feeling when going to toilet but have been drinking cranberry juice like a fiend hoping it would stave off any infection - it didn't work. Yesterday I got in from work and when I went toilet and wiped, there was a bit of spotting - light pink in colour. I dragged OH to the doctors there and then and have been given anti-biotics for my UTI and told that often there can be blood in the urine stream when you have a UTI :o

Scared me so much, I was a wreck for most of last night - I never had any spotting with DS throughout the whole 9 months and I've had it twice this pregnancy already :o Since the initial spotting, there has been nothing else and I have no pain so I know that's a good sign :o

I have my booking in appointment a week today - can't wait :)
  • Morning all, can I join!!?

Got my BFP on Friday and It's slowly starting to sink in but if I was to say I feel overwhelmed that would be an understatement! Need to see my GP to discuss my prescription medication I'm already on. I think I'm 4 + 3, and EDD (by my dates) is June 23rd.
  • Hi Littlemissgiggle :hello:

Nice to see some names I recognise from the TTC thread coming over :) I am still lurking there as it still doesn't feel completely real to me either :o
