Hi all!! Sorry not posted in a while been busy, busy, busy!!

Anyways, I had my first midwife appt yesterday afternoon (I was 6 weeks yesterday), suprised that I was seen so soon but mustn't grumble! Just the routine taking blood, blood pressure and form filling. She also booked me in for a scan on the 16th September!! I will only be 10+2 (but will be dated properly then) at that point but thrilled we have a date... and also very impressed with the efficiency of booking me in, i thought I'd have to wait for a written letter blah blah, but all in all the midwife was lovely (i thought she was going to be a bit of a witch) and made the whole process easier than I thought.

She has also booked me in for my second midwife appt when i'm around 16 weeks :j

Exciting stuff... still no real symptoms, thats the only thing that is worrying me, but the midwife has said not to worry... only that DH thinks I'm sleeping a lot more than I normally do

Hope all you girls are well...

    Gops xx

Lucky you Goppers! Sounds like you live in a good area for maternity services! :)
The girl I sit next to at work is nearly 7 months and she said that she had hardly any symptoms and was convinced that there wasn't a baby and was more than a little shocked when she saw bubs on the scan!

    hi all :)

How are we all feeling ? Im 9 weeks tomorrow :j thats nearly double figures :j

My local hospital was featured in the news the other night, they have added an extra 6 rooms - 4 of which have birthing pools. There was only 2 before so the chances of having one are increased. Has anyone here considered a water birth ? anything to share on the subject ?

Haha! That maybe true Goppers! ;)

Mishka - I was thinking I might like a water birth but I wouldn't want to set my heart on it incase there were no pools available when I went in.

    :j congratulations !

things you should be doing, firstly sit back and let it all sink in :D, secondly at this stage I would say make sure you are taking folic acid if arent taking it already.

Do you know how far along you are ?

    welcome to the thread !

    Congratulations Glimmerofhope :j :j

Welcome to the thread. Other than making an appoinment with your doctor (or midwife if you can self-refer in your area) and taking your folic acid there isn't a lot to do at this stage.
