We wasted LOADS first time round, some things off the top of my head.

    - a baby carrier (It always felt like baby was going to drop out, and it was hard on the back !)
    - a bath/changer trolley - not a total waste but we never used the bath section WAAAAY to much hassle, we ended up getting another free standing one for in the bath.
    - Nappy wrapper - didnt get one but were tempted, didnt think on one single occasion "damn i wish i had that really expensive bin right now ;)"
    - cute little outfits - we got a bag full from next and they just grow too quickly to get much use from them, that or a mustard special poop would ruin it :/

Things we did get good use from,

    - Travel system, with a base for the car. Its so much easier when visiting people etc to be able to just plonk the seat onto the base without fidling around to re-strap them in.
    - A baby mat with hanging toys and bouncer seats, great for when you need 5 minutes to do bits.
    - We used, moses basket, travel cot and then full cot. Travel cot stayed in the living room so there was always somewhere for baby to be, moses basket was in our room and cot in theirs. Getting them used to all 3 meant there was no dib-dabs later on when they went to their own room.
    - changing mat and lots of baby wipes. No matter how many you have you always need more ! the changing mats are just cheap foam ones which we had in every room, there is nothing worse than having to carry a wet/smelly wriggling squidge about the house while you hunt one down.

We didnt go for top end stuff but I do wish we had spent a little more on the travel system as the Graco one was a little bit cheapy and didnt wear well.

I had another rough afternoon so Ive ordered a sea band from amazon for £5. odd will let you know how you get on !

Thanks for the info ladies! :)
I think we will probably spend a bit more on the pram and car seat and save on the other bits and bobs.
Luckily MIL and FIL have already offered to by the cot as they bought one for BIL and his wife.

I got a silvercross travel system and loved it, using it this time round as it is just in too good a condition not too, will save us £500 so not complaining.

Might have to have a looksie at the silvercross ones.
Thanks again for the info guys it's much appreciated :)

I scared myself yesterday when I was getting on the train and I missed the step completely and landed in the train on my hands and knees! What a wally! :o I felt like a right plank! I had a little panic I might have upset beanie by DH and google reassured me that he/she is well protected. Think it was just my pride that was damaged ;)

I was saying to DH today that I thought it strange that I hadn't had my morning bout of nausea this morning and then of course this afternoon it's reared it's ugly head! That'll teach me to complain about feeling good! :rotfl: I think it doesn't help that I haven't been snacking today like I would at work.

I hope you are all having nice weekends :)

    Hi Emsbet
Hope you are well, I am with you on the Silvercross (I have been googling them and they look amazing); also we had a silvercross when we were little.

Glad nothing other than your pride was injured :o
I have been feeling a bit queasy and have started eating lots of fruit which is unlike me - also have no taste for chocolate, crisps or coke which is sooo good as I used to raid the vending machine at work.
    Have a great weekend

Glimmer chocolate tastes funny to me too but I am into crisps at the moment (which i am never normally overly fussed about) and cheese. Apparently the old wives tale is that craving savory items means you are having a boy. Sweet items means a girl.

Oh btw ladies the old wives tale about the baking powder/bicarb (I forget which it is now) might have something to it. The saying is if you wee on it it will fizz for a boy and not for a girl. Well the girl I sit next to who is having a boy did it and it fizzed! Or maybe it's just coincidence :p Although I'm glad it did as she would have worried, ;)

I'm happy today as I have reached the 7week mark :j

So.......... all I need to do for now is call the doctors in the morning right? I am already taking sanatogen mother to be.

    Yay! Welcome Laura! :D

That sounds about right. My last period was 1st July and I expect to have my 12 week scan around the 25th September.

Yes all you can really do is make an appointment with your doctors. It might be worth checking if you can self-refer (call the midwives direct) in your area save you going to the doctors.
