Glimmer chocolate tastes funny to me too but I am into crisps at the moment (which i am never normally overly fussed about) and cheese. Apparently the old wives tale is that craving savory items means you are having a boy. Sweet items means a girl.

Oh btw ladies the old wives tale about the baking powder/bicarb (I forget which it is now) might have something to it. The saying is if you wee on it it will fizz for a boy and not for a girl. Well the girl I sit next to who is having a boy did it and it fizzed! Or maybe it's just coincidence :p Although I'm glad it did as she would have worried, ;)

I'm happy today as I have reached the 7week mark :j

    xx

BICARB! :) I done it and it didn't fizz which got me too excited, I know when I go for my scan in a few weeks I'll be seeing boy parts probably! Although I've been craving savoury things too. I think it's more sweet things like chocolate are hard to eat, they make you feel nauseous.

    Congrats on 7 weeks :)

I think that's what she used! I want to try it but I don't think I will as DH is still not sure he wants to find out what we are having so I will wait and see if he changes his mind nearer the time (even though it's only an old wives' tale) :)

    Thanks for the congrats :)

Oooo! I was reading the other day about a study that was done into one old wives' take in particular and they discovered they maybe some truth to it. Apparently the amount of heartburn you suffer from in pregnancy is related to the amount of hair your baby will have! They found that women who suffered from a lot of heartburn generally gave birth to babies with more hair on their heads!

The girl I sit next to has suffered quite badly all the way through her pregnancy so I'll be waiting to see the pictures in november ;)

Thank you. We have had a BFP every day for the last four days!! Hopefully there might be another one laster on today as well :j

How far along are you? Have you had a scan ye? I dont think I'll believe it till we get that far. Going from my last period (28 july) does that mean I should ahve the first scan around 20th October?

So.......... all I need to do for now is call the doctors in the morning right? I am already taking sanatogen mother to be.

Yeah, I've seen all the BFPs, it's amazing! Its a lucky new thread!

I'm 18 weeks today (so technically shouldn't be on this thread but I lurk everywhere!). Your first scan will be somewhere around the 10 to 13 week mark so could be before the 20th October, mine was at 11+5. I think I made an appointment with my GP when I was about 6 or 7 weeks then he referred me on to the community midwife who I saw a week or so later.
