I am planning on using 4 weeks of banked/annual/bank holiday leave one month before I decide to go back to work so it would be a month of full pay rather than SMP. I think I can also do some keeping in touch days, although not too sure?!
According the Direct Gov website, you and your employer have to agree on the KIT days, so the employer can't call you in when not suitable for you and vice versa, you can toodle in when it's not suitable for the employer.
Dh was asking me about the going back to work/not going back work thing and how employers feel about it this morning. Bless him, he has no idea, he's been in the police for 22 years and has no idea how private companies work :rotfl:Whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re probably right ~ Henry Ford0 -
I've got a date for my booking in appointment - it's Friday 9th Sept which is three weeks on Friday. That should break up my 5.5week (ish) wait for the 12 week scan nicely.

I'm about 10 4 according to my LMP, although I don't have my scan until 3 weeks tomorrow so it'll be a while before I know for sure. I found my symptoms eased off in month 3, the tiredness has largely passed although I do still get days where I don't feel too good and I was sick last night, but I don't mind as it reminds me of what is going on!
Congratulations Jem, and welcome to the board!
I didn't know I get PH accrued as well! That means I could go back to work slowly rather than jumping straight in. I was wanting to do the keeping in touch days too as there are a lot of changes in government just now and I want to keep in the loop.0 -

A train? To me it sounded like galloping horses. You may also hear a wind/whooshy noise, which is placenta.Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

I think it depends on your contract - mine says I get to take the bank holidays off and be paid for them in addition to my 25 days of normal annual leave.
Check your contract and ask your HR dept - be prepared to fight your corner, they might try to fob you off. Just bear in mind that you can't be off work on a bank holiday (if they are in addition to your normal holiday) and be on maternity leave at the same time. One or the other.

Cool, lots of form filling and family history questions, perhaps a chance to note things down in the meantime?
I was asked about family history, any operations, allergies etc etc
You also get a PILE of stuff to take home and read - most of it you'll know anyway just by being on here and reading what others have posted but always good for the odd nugget!Whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re probably right ~ Henry Ford0 -

Congrats and good luck for a health pregnancy.
Didn't know that the bank holidays accrued and you get to take them after your maternity. Not sure that applies to me with working in a school and getting set holidays does it???
I think it depends on your company, because mine doesn't do it. I've already checked.DFD February 2012

fluterbylil - I think it all depends on your contract, as I work in the LA its fairly generic so it was pretty standard to read.
Check your contract or policies and see what they say. Mine is something like bank holidays will be acrued as they are normally paid in full and you wouldnt be on full pay on ML.
Hope everyone is doing ok, think my tiredness is easing a little. Im 10 today. Scan in 3 weeks time :jStill do keep worrying though, what if there is nothing there!?!?
