Just got back from the hospital where we saw our little beanie with a heartbeat! :j:j
Its such a relief! The midwife says that if there is a heartbeat at this stage then there's about 85%+ chance that everything will be ok!
xx
Oh fab!!!! Been thinking of you all day. So happy for you both :T:TDFD February 2012

I thought I was 6+3 but the midwife said beanie was measuring at 6+1 but that at this stage they can't be that accurate. I think that's probably about right or 6+2 because I think I ov'd on CD15

Hey all
emsbet - I am so pleased for you x
I have my scan date now, its 9 Sept and I will be 13+3 by then :j
I didnt see my midwife until week 8 and I think it was only then because I was on annual leave, she would have happily left it a week or so longer I think.
Hope you are all doing ok girlies, I haven't scoffed as much as normal this weekend, trying to fill up on healthy things rather than the cr*p!!!
My work trousers are getting a little tight though
Just wondering - what jobs is everyone in and how long are you planning on taking off? Also, are you planning on returning?
I work in the county council and would like to finish about 3 weeks before and have as much time off as poss afterwards. I'd like to go back 4 days p/w but we need to do some sums I think.

I'm in kind of in a funny situation. I work for a government organisation that is going to be abolished at the end of march which fits in nicely with my maternity leave. I will get my mat pay in a lump sum when I am made redundant. I will probably stay until the beginning of march (I'm due beginning of April) to get paid as long as possible. As to what I will be doing after baby is born I think it will depend on our finances, the job market and whether or not I'm going insane being a SAHM

That fits nicely doesnt it
I do like the idea of being a stay at home mum, I'm just not sure whether I would miss working if anyone sees what I mean?!?
I need to look into nursery costs etc and also hope that Mother in Law and my sister would help as they only work 2 days p/w...heres hoping!Little Man born 11 March 2012 :smileyhea

I like the idea of being a SAHM at the moment but I'm the same. I'm not sure whether I would miss being at work.
We don't have any family up here (except SIL and husband who both work full time) as both our families are in our hometown 80 miles away so if I go back to work baby would have to be in nursery.

Emsbet, just having a quick lurk on this thread as I am an antenatal teacher (not because I'm pregnant!). Please check the terms of your redundancy. I am concerned from what you have posted that you are getting a lump sum of maternity pay instead of redundancy. f your colleagues are getting redundancy payments then you should be getting the same. Your maternity allowance should then be in addition to this or you should be entitled to claim statutory maternity allowance
