    Morning Everyone,

Hope you are all OK today :)

Thankyou for the the replies to my questions, I thought I was on the right track with the 2 weeks/4 weeks one so I'm glad you have confirmed it.

Could I ask if the medical people go with date of the last period as the universal date - so are scans etc booked on the basis of this? If so I'm suddenly very excited to be 4 weeks rather than just 2! :D

From what I have read there is a scan at 12 weeks an another at 20 weeks?

The wee-ing thing is starting to get more frequent but the minute I think about it I need to go :o

DH is excited in his quiet way, he now spends about 45 minutes looking at baby things on the internet before we go to bed. He's busy looking at buggys and car seats at the moment, Bless.

I think I will get VERY excited once I get to see the GP and get referred to the midwife. I registered with the GP today (moved in Oct last year and hadn't got round to it yet :o) so will be making appointment in next few weeks.

    Apologies for the rambling!

    Morning everyone!

How's everyone feeling today? I feel so not pregnant it's unreal. I was going to the ladies quite a lot but even that seems to have clamed down a bit this morning.

I'm waiting on someone popping up and proclaiming this all to be a horrid joke! One of my colleagues that i have confided in (just because i sometimes have to go into lab's at work and would rather not do that at the mo so had to tell someone!) has said not to worry she never had any symptoms at all with her 2 boys.

I know i will regret saying this if morning sickness kicks in but i wish i just felt a little more pregnant! Anyone else feeling like this?

Yes, the medical lot all use your LMP not actual conception (even if you dont have a regular cycle). Because my Luteal phase is quite short, going by LMP would have put me 3.5 weeks ahead of where i should be,instead of 2, and would have mucked up all the tests and scans, so i got my GP to rework my LMP, so that it works out about right.

The timing of the scans seems to vary by area, but yes, roughly (give or take 2-3weeks) the first scans are 12 and 20/21.

I feel exactly the same! I have no morning sickness (sorry to all who do!) and can't really believe I'm still pregnant!

I'm going to see the midwife tomorrow so that will reassure me more!

Although my mam said when she was preg she didn't have any morning sickness and she just ballooned - do you think it's hereditory?

I'm going to tell a few more people in the next few days as I can't cover up much longer - I look like I have a beer belly without drinking any beer! :rotfl:

Hugs to anyone who needs them with morning sickness etc!

I think this is true. My mum told me she had about two days of nausea (not sickness) during both her pregnancies and I've been the same. I've had nothing (am now 10 weeks) until today! Woke up feeling sick but had a couple of ginger biscuits first thing and have been nibbling on bits and bobs all morning and it's subsiding now. I think as long as I eat little and often I should be ok.

    Hi ladies,

Hope all are ok this beautiful morning?

I've had my booking in app this morning with the midwife, feels a bit more real now! I'm 7 weeks today, my due date is 14th February 2012!

The midwife was lovely, I had to have blood taken today as my parents are from outside this Country and this puts me more at risk of sickle cell disease. My BMI is a healthy 19, blood pressure good, she was happy with me and I even got extra points for starting my pregnacare vits whilst me and hubby were trying to get pregnant! I didn't have to give a sample of urine which was a pain as I had drunk loads this morning so I was bursting for a wee!!

She booked my scan there and then for the 1st August, so just counting down the days until then!

Hi everyone. I'm going to be 7 weeks on sunday. Its almost 2 weeks(on tues) since I saw my GP. He expained that he would be writing to the hospital but I've yet to recieve an appointment for booking in. Anyone know roughly how long it takes to hear back? I appreciate hospitals vary(I will be going to Kingston hospital). Thanks in advance x

Hi, as you say it does depend on the hospital. Kingston is really busy and gets lots of referrals, so it may take a while. As a guide 2-3 weeks.. however, they do look at your EDD when scheduling first appointments, so if there are others further along than you, they may deal with those first, before they come to you, which can mean it takes longer.

If you havent heard in 3 weeks, you could try ringing their antenatal unit, and "just checking" they have received your form.

Have you got a back up hospital in mind, in case Kingston cant take you? It is probably unlikely to happen, but when i was choosing hospital, my GP warned me that Kingston is v popular and can get oversubscribed, so sometimes they go back to GP and ask you to be referred elsewhere. Worth having a think, just in case, so as to avoid delays.
