Hi fellow pregnant girlies, I've got a couple of hours to get a few more votes & I can win a makeup goody bag (I really could do with a new one!) I'm 11 weeks preggers so I'm not gonna afford new makeup for a while now
If you're on facebook I'd really appreciate it if you could vote for me? I'll return the favour if anyone else needs votes. I can't post a link but if you just like Maybelline uk on Facebook then click maybelline party looks under their profile pic, just like the app then vote for Stacey (moi). You have to click the vote button twice. Thanks loads.
Hope everyone is feeling well. My morning sickness won't give up but I'm weirdly getting used to it lol. I'd probably be worried if I didn't have it now :rotfl: xx0 -
Afternoon Ladies,
Hope everybody is feeling ok and not to sicky?
I'm still suffering with nausea, but still not been sick, so I count myself lucky!
I have my midwife app tomorrow - might make it seem more real to me!
I'm thinking about paying for a private scan next week. I'll be 8 weeks then and I just want to know everything is OK and the thought of waiting another month is unbearable! There is a local place to me that will do a scan from 7 weeks, this costs £65.00 and takes 15 minutes and you get 2 pictures and reassurance for me.
I'm also having trouble sleeping, needing lots of toilet trips in the night and just been to hot! I've started sleeping with a pillow between my legs which helps.
Have a good day all!

Hi everyone,
Well we're not going to the wedding now OH didn't wanna go on his own with the kids for company .................hmmm wonder why that could be :rotfl:
His uncle is fine with it absolutely thrilled that we are having a baby we gave permission for FIL to tell him the reason cue loads of txting between OH and his uncle congratulating us so amagain.
Still feel a bit guilty but I know we made the right decision for us and as long as they are ok with it I am happy and hopefully they can give our places to someone else who they didn't invite.
My tummy seems to be getting bigger by the day here and I am wondering now if it's possible we do have twins and they missed it when we were scanned at 7 wks anyone know what the odds of this are ? I can't really think of any reason why I would be so big otherwise !
Sickness kicked in again last night shouldn't really grumble I had a day and a half off but it just makes me so miserable and I have also put stacks of weight on not surprising really when you consider the size of me !! Can totally identify with the wretching when brushing teeth though that happens all the time and it is truly awful !
Hope everyone is well

I'm in a foul mood today, upstairs neighbours had a party last night, then after disappearing about 12ish all came back about half 2. They were so loud and sat on the fire escape half the night screeching and shouting at each other  so annoyed. There must have been about 20 people in the house.
So I'm tired, and spending the day in bed! Had such a craving for mars bar cake last night, made a big batch and I've nearly ate half of it alreadyso yummy though.

ugh, my upstairs neighbours used to do that, when i lived in a flat a couple of years ago. They'd go out on a saturday night, and come in at around 6am with a crowd of friends. Music would go on, people would be shouting, screaming, running up and down the stairs, slamming doors, everything. I used to work in a pub on sundays as well, so it would drive me crazy. After the second time it happened, I went up and nicely asked them to turn the music off, but then when it happened again, I went up and gave them what for, and the guy who had recently moved into the flat opposite theirs came out as well (and he was an ex-policeman so was threatening them with all sorts). they still did it again though, so I once turned off their electricity at the main meter/fuse box thing (the cupboard they were in was just outside my door). They really made my life there miserable, they used to empty ash trays out of their window, and if I had my window open it would all blow in. So I feel for you, hun! I never want to live in a flat again now.:j Debt Free 27.07.2011!! :j0 -

If it was the weekend I'd accept it, wouldn't be happy about it but I'd understand it's the weekend and that's what people do! It was a Tuesday night, and OH started work at half 6 this morning, so had to be up at half 5. Apparently there lease is up on Friday but it's students again that are moving in so god knows how it'l be.The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
Oooh I have my student neighbours trained very quickly... They make noise after 9pm I go round and become the screaming banshee, report them to the letting agent AND the landlord and send the children out to play on the bouncy castle at 7am, put my music on REALLY loud about the same time with my speakers against the wall and.. go out!!!!
We rarely have a second occasion...
There was one girl who would screech and scream at all hours last year.. she couldn't cope with me so moved out.. good riddance.. stupid little southern rich kids who have no social skills and too much money.. make me sick!! they are better this year but they are French and Portuguese I think..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Afternoon Ladies,
Hope you are all well and not too feeling too sick!
I have a couple of questions if you would indulge me please?
1) Why does the internet PG calculator put me at 4 weeks but the CB test put me at 1-2 weeks?
The first day of my last period was 31st May.
2) I am starting to wee more than normal, is this to be expected?
3) I drink copious amounts of tea. I know that caffine isn't good for my little bean so I am reducing it to 1 cup in the morning, afternoon and evening. Is this OK?
I don't really want to make the obvious move over to decaf tea - would raise eyebrows and quesitons in the small office I work in.
4) Other than the obvious (Ibuprofen, mouldy cheeses, shellfish, peanuts, pate, raw egg stuff like home made mayo etc) is there anything else I should be avoiding like the plague?
Sorry to ask silly quesions!
Thanks

Sorry, one more!
5) Is it normal to want to keep checking the test? I keep wanting to do another IC to make sure. I can see myself having a box full of tests like Stacey in Gavin & Stacey
I think the problem is that I don't really feel PG yet? But I do feel really protective over my little clump of cells that is going to be a bean!Whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re probably right ~ Henry Ford0 -
Afternoon Ladies,

I have a couple of questions if you would indulge me please?
1) Why does the internet PG calculator put me at 4 weeks but the CB test put me at 1-2 weeks? Internet will go off the date of your last period, but the digi test goes by the HGC levels in your urine. As there is normally no way of exactly knowing when you ov'd and which BD was the one that did the trick, it is not an exact science as to working out *exactly* when you conceived. Therefore going by the date of your last period is, in the early stages, the most accurate way, as a woman normally ov's 14 days after the first day of the period. So when you ov, you're already two weeks pg!! Like I said, it's not an exact science, so when you have your dating scan (around 12 weeks) they will be able to tell much more accurately how far along you are. So, long story short, *officially* you are 4 weeks, but *technically* you are two!
The first day of my last period was 31st May.
2) I am starting to wee more than normal, is this to be expected? Yes! It's your hormones! Apparently it may wear off during the second trimester but then will come back in the third trimester but thats cos bubs will be sitting on your bladder.
3) I drink copious amounts of tea. I know that caffine isn't good for my little bean so I am reducing it to 1 cup in the morning, afternoon and evening. Is this OK?
As far as I know, a little caffeine every day is ok, so one cup should be fine. I switched to decaff coffee (told anyone who asked that I was having trouble sleeping). Don't forget that things like chocolate etc have caffeine in too, so you may need to limit that as well, if you're drinking tea. 200mg of caffeine a day is the recommended limit (roughly 2 cups of tea). check out http://www.babycentre.co.uk/pregnancy/nutrition/foodsafety/caffeine/
You're supposed to make sure all emat is thoroughly cooked too, especially chicken. Basically anything which could potentially cause food poisoning, is what my midwife told me. Oh and no liver either, as it's got lots of vit A which is potentially bad. Check out http://www.babycentre.co.uk/pregnancy/nutrition/foodsafety/notsafetoeatexpert/
Sorry to ask silly quesions!
Thanks

5) Is it normal to want to keep checking the test? I keep wanting to do another IC to make sure. I can see myself having a box full of tests like Stacey in Gavin & StaceyI've done a million tests! I was doing one every week *just to make sure*! I pretty much did one a week until 8 weeks. I was telling myself it's ridiculous, and have managed to stop now. It's definitely due to me not really having any symptoms whatsoever, so didn't believe it. I just keep telling myself that no AF is pretty much the best sign, and keep my fingers crossed that everything's ok in there.
I think the problem is that I don't really feel PG yet? But I do feel really protective over my little clump of cells that is going to be a bean!
www.babycentre.co.uk is the best site I've found so far, it's got loads of information on about everything! Or the NHS website, also v good.:j Debt Free 27.07.2011!! :j0
