Last night I started bleeding, after phoning the midwife I was advised to go to A&E, four and a half hours later I was seen by the doctor who took my blood pressure felt my tummy and said all he could do was schedule in a scan for Tuesday at the earliest (my dating scan is already booked in for Tuesday) so I now have a long wait until Tuesday afternoon to find out if there is anything wrong. Although I was told it is very common and doesn't necessarily mean that there is something wrong.
Trying to relax and not panic but easier said than done.
oh hun i hope everything is okay. A few of us on here have had some bleeding/spotting and it has been okay. I hope everything is okay. Tuesday does seem like a long way off. Looks like I'm leaving you ladies already, I woke up this morning with a few spots of blood but it's turned heavy with clots. I'm pretty sure I've lost the baby, even though it wasn't planned I'm heartbroken, I'd started planning for another little one and was getting excited. Good luck to the rest of you xxxxxxx

I'm having a bit of a freak-out and so is OH by all accounts... He's came home from work on Friday really down (albeit end of week 1 of trying to give up smoking) and said he just felt like he needed a bit of a cry. He said he feels like everything is out of control and that basically he's really sad to be leaving Australia and sad about the turn our lives have taken with this surprise pregnancy of ours. At first I put it down him being out of sorts due to giving up smoking and having had a v frustrating Skype chat with his dad the other night. He's definitely one of those people who needs to do things at his own pace and can't be pushed, and being catapulted into this new phase of our lives has scared the bejeebers out of him and I feel like I've been too busy being pregnant to notice. But now, I can kind of see what he means. I've just got back home from a night out with the girls and I noticed how different I feel (physically and emotionally) and it's made me realise that I am also sad and scared that our lives are about to change. OH and I have had 9 wonderful years together and I love how things are (were?)! Our scan is next week and after that we've said we'll start putting the wheels in motion to tell friends and family and move back to the UK, which I suppose is making it all the more real. It's funny because we are excited about the baby, but it feels like its happening to other people and not us.
I'm sorry for the self-indulgent waffle, and I know there are people going through much worse, and that I should be grateful that we can even get pregnant and that people have unplanned pregnancies all the time (and in much worse situations that mine and OH) but I miss our old life already.
We didn't expect our lives to change like this right now, which makes it more of a shock given we've been lucky enough to have had nothing rock our boat this much so far (I guess it was about time).
Does/has anyone else felt like this?0 -
I know what you mean Blue Monkey, I was/am happy being a part time parent with my son at his dad's half of the week so I have me time, and me and bf time as well as mummy time. But now I'm going to be thrown back into full time parenting which I'm not overly excited about. I'm not the most maternal person in the world so I like having time away from it all too.
It's just me being selfish I guess and I know I'll get used to it, but it is on my mind.Little lady arrived 13/12/110 -
So sorry to hear your news mummy4monsters
KittenPie, hope that you are OK. I know quite a few people who have had bleeding / spotting throughout their pregnancy, particularly around the time that AF would have been due. Is this the case for you? Also is the blood brownish or red? If it is brownish it is usually fine apparently. Have you had anymore bleeding since?0 -

Thanks Wonder Womble.
Feeling a bit better this afternoon, my mum came up to see me and keep me company with girlie movies.
Started bright red and has since moved to dark browm (sorry if tmi) It could well be when my af is due but so irregular not sure when that would be, first bleed and first pregnancy so obviously worried just trying to take it easy and not read too much online. Hope to have better news Tuesday evening.Overdraft = £1000 Emergency fund = £2500

Fingers crossed Kitten_Pie.
Yippee :j I'm 12 weeks today :j I feel as though I've reached a milestone (even though I'm aware that things can go wrong at any time)!
My sister came round yesterday with lots of baby goodies from hers and my other sister's pregnancies. It's all in really good condition and should save us an absolute fortune. It would be lovely to have new stuff but I'd rather save our money and use it to have as much maternity time off as possible. I really want to take a year but don't know if I'll be able to make my savings stretch that far.
So I got a pram, moses basket, bath seats, car seats, baby gyms, travel cot, neutral newborn clothes, as well as a pile of girls clothes as they have all girls. I'm getting her steriliser and my niece will be finished with the cot by the time bubs is ready to move out of the moses basket.0
