Hello all, haven't been in the thread for a few days, me and my mam went to see Take That on Friday and I've been camping out at her house all weekend. When I got here my mam showed me her 'baby box' where she has all sorts of baby grows and wipes and lotion and things in that she's been picking up for me, kind of made it hit home a little bit! Also got a cot/toddler bed from my aunty and uncle that they bought for £400 from Mothercare and has hardly been used
so that's another thing to tick off the list!
Got my first midwife appointment for tomorrow, was a bit bewildered when I had an answerphone message saying it was from Barbara, and to call her back as I don't know anyone called Barbara. Mam explained the reason that they can't tell you it's the midwife though!
Hope everyone is ok and sending hugs to those needing themD'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't importantTaste The Rainbow :heartsmil0 -
December is going to be a busy month girlies
Scan is tomorrowThough we're both a bit nervous to be honest. I still haven't gone to get my blood tests done, so have to do that tomorrow too. I'm such a wuss when it comes to needles and usually go pale and sweaty
.
Jenjade, I like to think I'm over the worst of it, or perhaps I've just got used to it ? My MS was definitely at it's peak between weeks 6-10. Thing is with me, I had to eat constantly - not that anything appealed or tasted any good - but if I went more than about an hour without eating, the nausea was far worse. I still don't find as much pleasure in eating as I used to, so I'm hoping that will deffo come back as I looooove food!
Our immune systems are low down on the priority list at the mo too, so you may well be coming down with something - hope you feel better soon.
WW, Same here, I'm struggling for dinner-inspiration too. We've been living off the same old bland food for weeks now. Poor OH is so bored of jacket potatoes! I am able to cook again now without heaving which I'm taking a sign the MS is easing off. When it was really bad, I could barely open the fridge without gagging at the smell (which OH thought was non-existent).

I see, thanks! Seems ironic that they would be so sensitive about something like that when they can be renowned for being old insensitive battle-axes!!!!!0 -

I'm now 9+4, and if anything the MS is getting worse not better. I'm Soooo ready for it to stop! Water is making me feel sick too.
I was mainly just feeling MS in the afternoon and evening, and its spread forwards to morning too. Food wise, i'm really only able to keep down carbs- rice, pasta and especially jacket potatoes. Generally not fancying meat at all, but the times i've tried, usually comes back up. Never the less, I've been putting on WAY to much weight (1.5/2lb per week!) the last few weeks. Bit worrying really as being overweight i need to keep the gain as low as poss. Don't really understand how i can be gaining so much tho' as i'm eating less than pre preg, losing about a meal a day from MS, and i've cut out all sugary snacks, crisps, chocolate etc, so much healthier diet. Maybe its just the starchy carbs, maybe water retention.. or maybe i have 2 beanies and not one!!

water retention and bloating usually goes at about 12 weeks. If you are struggling with food I'd not be interested in the weight gain at the moment so long as you are eating decent stuff not chocolate and cakes it is fine.
MS often peaks at 9-10 weeks.. due to hormone levels and everything working overdrive!

Ahh.. says the lady with the experience.. good to know. I'll keep my fingers crossed for the 13 week threshold. S'pose the good bit is just not fancying any of the junk food - not even managed to finish my easter eggs!
I don't FEEL like i'm retaining water. I had puffy legs and feet for the first 4 weeks or so, but i can visbily see that i've had lovely puff free ankles for the last few weeks! Plus my "normal" clothes dont seem any tighter round the waist or tum- just my boobies!
Hey ho, hopefully once i feel better, i'll feel more able to go for the walks in the park that i fancy but cant manage.
thanks Pigpen.Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

my bloating was ALL on my tummy and a bit on my hands then the added constipation didn't help with weight either! :eek:LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

Back from the midwife, we've placed me at 12+6 which gives me a EDD of 8th December! For some reason I worked it out wrong and thought I was going to be back end of Dec not front end, will be finding lots of 'Baby's first Christmas' things around no doubt!
Still using it as a rough guide though due to not knowing exact dates, she's going to try and get me booked in for my scan ASAP, will they send me a letter/ring me with my time or do I have to call them to arrange? I'm going to make a start on my ton of reading material lol
Blue Monkey, yep it's so if someone listens to your message or you were using someone else's phone then the cat won't be out of the bag!D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't importantTaste The Rainbow :heartsmil0
