Thanks guys. Been googling so many things this morning. My latest one is Bio-oil v Palmers Cocoa Butter v Derma Mum for stretch marks haha. Hada banana for breakfast and might just have a decaf coffee now. But am thinking, should I be eating more? I'll have some weetbix later, but I never have a big breakfast.
Thanks 4nnabella!!
Hi - bio oil etc - NONE have been proven to help prevent all strech marks.
Food - NO DONT EAT MORE. You only need to increase your calories by 300 (double check, someone else mentioned 200) a day in the LAST THREE months. you eat for two - you diet for two remember ;-)0 -
Hello ladies!
Can I join?
Am now 5 days late and did a test on Sunday which was positive!
It's our first so don't really know what to expect.
I rang the doctors today to tell them, and the receptionist said I needed to have a "booking appointment" with the midwife, but not until about 8 weeks. She wasn't up for booking me in with a doctor prior to that. Does that sound right? I'd have thought I needed to see the doctor to get them to do another test?
Any advice?
Thanks!0 -

I agree with Mimi, there doesnt seem to be any evidence of any creams helping and if you are going to get stretch marks then you will get them. I have been using Palmers Cocoa Butter and I havent got any stretch marks yet @ 34 weeks but I dont use it all of the time. If its in your genes its in your genes apparently, ask your mum if she got any or your gran.Id still use some cream but dont necessarily need the expensive stuff.

Hi JenE, Congratulations!
That sounds about right. I had to do a urine sample and that was it until I saw the midwife for the booking in appointment. They dont have you see the doctor anymore for some reason.:j0 -

Congratulations Jen. The advice from the receptionist sounds correct. GP won't usually do another test if you have had a positive hpt.0 -
Hi All,
I thought I should update. I have just got back from the scan and it turns out there are two of them. They are sharing a sac and a placenta so signs look good for identical twins.
They are both healthy and there was no sign of why I was bleeding earlier in the week which is good.
Currently in shock (good shock) Wasn't expecting it as apart from a couple of days I haven't had much morning sickness which apparently is much worse with twins.
Just watch next week I will be on the floor with sickness
Thanks for all your well wishes. I have another appointment next week as I am only 11.5 weeks rather than the 13 they thought so need to get some measurements. I will also have to go back once a month for scans to check that one isn't growing more than the other.
Look at me I am rambling with excitment and nerves.Overdraft = £1000 Emergency fund = £2500
Competition wins 2015 = £1400:ANathan Henry & Lincoln Marcus born 19th October 2011 :ANaomi Lily born 28th August 2012

Congrats Kitten_Pie, double trouble indeed!
Had my scan today, only 1 in there thankfully! All looks fine, he/she was doing a little dance at the start moving around all over the place, then settled down and chilled out for the photos. Have brought the due date forward a bit to 9 Dec, obv my dates were a bit out.
Nice to be able to officially annouce it at last!Little lady arrived 13/12/110 -
None that I know of. My mum has distant relatives who are twins but not identical.Overdraft = £1000 Emergency fund = £2500
