    Wow, nice to have so many people in the same boat!
    I've got my docs appointment tomorrow. Not too sure what she will do. Have only done 3 hpt, and they all positive, so will she also do a test, or will i have to wait till my first midwife appointment (which i'm sure she'll set up tomorrow). I work out that i'm only around 2-3 weeks, as I only ov'd on the 14th.
    On what week did everyone start feeling symptoms ie morning sickness?

    I'm such a stoopid c*w! Just had a call from the midwife to say i've missed my booking in appointment.. I've been "looking forward" to it (in a key milestone way), and still somehow managed to put the date in all my calendars one day out.
    I'm so upset and cross with myself. The midwife was really nice about it, and is going to try and book me in for next weds instead, but i'm still sitting here in tears. Boo. :cry:

    Hey. If you are seeing the doctor tomorrow, they will probably ask you what hospital/ birthing centre you want to go to for your pregnancy care/childbirth. Worth having a look online today to see the options in your area so you are informed and can make an educated decision. Most of the hospitals in my area have terrible inspection reports, so glad i did some research first. Maybe have a look at this as a starter for 10. http://www.birthchoiceuk.com/BirthChoiceUKFrame.htm

    Once you make a decision with the doc tomorrow, they will send a referral letter to the hospital, who then get in touch with you with appointment dates.

    Symptoms, seems to vary big time by person. I started feeling nauseous on day 4! But wasnt actually sick until about week 6, and its got steadily worse since then. Boobs started swelling about week 5, and was knackered from about week 1 as well!

    Thanks Kira. Wow, haven't even thought about that, will research tonight! I even did another hpt just now to make sure its still real Haha. My problem is, we rent a 1 bedroom right now and will have to get a 2 bedroom. No place to put anything in here. It's tiny. Thanks for the advice. And hope you get your appointment soon!

    Hi Everybody,

    I've been lurking for a while. Got the positive test just after Easter, and am thinking that I'm currently 9+6, but there is a possibility that it could be 13+4! Saw my dr to confirm fairly early on, and start the process. Seemed like forever for my appointment date to come through in the post...finally came at the end of last week and it's not until 1st July!!! I presume this will include the dating scan, but not really much info in the letter, except where to be and when!

    My worry is that, by then, I'll be 14+1 or 17+6!!! I feel that this is really a bit late for a first appointment...but this is my first time, so not really sure how things should work! I'm trying to get it changed to earlier, but it seems that I have to go about it in a round-about way, being bounced from the midwife back to the doctor. Doctor's phone seems to be constantly engaged for the last few days! I'm just getting fed up with it all! :mad: I just want to know where I'm at...whether everything is ok...when I can tell everyone...although people may start to comment soon, cos I look like I've been eating too many pies, the way my belly's sticking out...makes me wonder if there may be 2 in there!

    I haven't had too many nasty symptoms...I did have a few days of feeling a bit queasy, but no MS...and the tiredness really knocked me for six at the start, but once I hit 8 (or 12!) weeks, it just seemed to disappear, and I'm fine now! :cool:

    Anyway...I've added my dates below, based on what I know now! Gotta go and try calling the dr's...AGAIN!!

    Dating scan/12 weeks

    * Blue Monkey - 31st May (EDD 11 Dec 11)
    * Yummymummy79 - 31st May (EDD 9 Dec 11)
    * Kitten_Pie - 31st May (EDD 7 Dec 11)
    * Jenjade- 5th June (EDD 21 Dec 11 eek)
    * Seafarers 7th June
    * Kira000 - 17th June (EDD 30 Dec 11)
    * Deborahmcgeachy - No scan date yet (EDD 14 Dec 11)
    * Caromel - 1st July (EDD 31 Dec 11)

    Hi and welcome! I have to agree with you whichever date is your edd, the appointment seems very late. Silly question, but which hospital trust are you booked in with? You should be able to see what their usual target date and actual average booking dates are from the stats, which should give you some ammo to get it moved forward. There are certain tests that really should be offered well before that, so seems odd. Maybe the GP put the wrong date down for you by accident.

    If you want me to find the target/average for your trust for you, happy to try and hunt it down. I know where to look!

    I'm in Glasgow City. I've been doing a wee search on google and finding quite a few posts from others in the area saying that 1st appointments at 15 weeks seem to be the norm in Glasgow at the moment due to the Queen Mum closing recently!

    Ahh, looks like the stats available for Scotland are different to the uk.
    I found this NHS site about antenatal care in Scotland, which gives lots of useful info. It says you should have your appointments by 12 weeks.. so 14 or 17 is definately late. Might be worth mentioning these guidelines when trying to change the appointment.. SOmetimes showing you know what you should get is the best way to get it.
    Have a look at this. http://http://www.nhsinform.co.uk/health-library/articles/a/antenatal-screening/introduction.aspx?url=Pages/what-is-it.aspx&apikey=JAYZTCHS
