Scans.. I have a cup of tea before we set off.. go for a wee before we leave the house.. do the 10 minute drive.. and have never had an issue.. you don't need to be fit to burst! in fact it is better if you are not!

For the 20 week scan the first thing they say is.. go to the loo, you don't need a full bladder!

the full bladder is to lift the uterus out of the pelvic cavity and that is not needed at 20 weeks.. while the letter sent out will be a standard one that says drink lots..

    Hi there :T

Me too! I am still in denial and have been reading this thread from the sidelines with interest.
It's very reassuring to see there are people out there in the same boat.
This is my first and this is a whole new world for me. Everybody I know seems to have an inbuilt understanding of what to do. I am asking stupid questions and just don't know anything. I've started a blog about my naivety - please PM if you'd like the link and would like to laugh at me :rotfl:

    Good luck everyone!

  • Hello ladies, may I join you please? I just found out a couple of days ago that we are expecting baby number 5! I think I must be about 5/6 weeks. I was going to return to my uni course (I was a student midwife) next month but won't be able to now, but there's nothing to stop me going back to it in the future I guess. To be honest, I am terrified at the thought of having 5 I feel like the work is constant now and the money is tight but I'm sure we'll manage somehow. Good luck to everyone xxx

PMSL!!! yes exactly, thats why I'm so worried about telling people, I know what sort of comments I'm going to get!

Wow! 10! Now that makes me wonder what I am worried about, good on you! I know where to go for advice when I'm pulling my hair out.:rotfl:

I know they are going to say I should go to hospital for the exact reason you mentioned (PPH) but I had my last one at home and I'm staying at home with this one.

    GOOD LUCK!!!

  • Yes very true actually, most women I know of who have had a pph, it was also with thier first. I did have one with my second, no obvious reason but I suspect it was anaemia I've kept on top of my iron levels with the last two with spatone & good diet and have had no problems with bleeding.

Yes I am waiting for all those sorts of comments, boring unoriginal and rude!!!! I'm going to have to prepare me a list of good comebacks as well, after all I can say what I like and blame the hormones now lol! So how many of each do you have?
