Hello
Ive come over from the TTC thread as i got my BFP this week after year and half, my digi test said 1-2 weeks pregnant and im still in shock!
So very early stages for me, not many symptoms apart from heightened smell and a constant low grumbling abdomen cramps. Waiting for more symptoms to kick in? *edit- oh and im peeing a lot lol *
I am suffering with headaches this week tho, is that a symptom? also do you know whether or not you can take ibuprofen/nurofen/paracematol etccalamityclare:hello:

AAAAAAhhhhhh am finding this keeping it a secret thing really difficult at work! Really struggling with what to wear, someone at work asked me out right today if I was because i was eating AGAIN. And I had to deny it but I went bright red! And someone else commented on the way I was sitting, saying that anyone would think I was pregnant sitting like that!!!!!!
I have another 9 days until my scan, 5 days of work to get through!!! Am really struggling. I didn't realise I looked pregnant?! I don't know how I'm going to get through it! I think I'm going to have to make myself scarce at lunch and tea breaks and not spend too long in the staff room so that people can't talk to or at me!!! I never realised it would be so hard to hide!!!!!0 -

Sorry to hear that Missy. At least 9 days isn't too much longer!! I'm 5+4 at the mo but haven't felt any symptoms or anything apart from an upset tummy the last 2 days. I'm off for 2 1/2 weeks so am hoping I still fit in my uniform when I go back. I work with all men too ( and 2 females) so it's something that they would notice!!0 -
@calamity....paracetamol is okay to take during pregnancy, though my stuff from the midwife says to take it sparingly. Ibuprofen and aspirin are no-nos. Ibuprofen/Nurofen,etc. is *possibly* linked to some early forming birth defects. The trouble that it's most associated with though is a heart defect that can occur in the third trimester, though it sounds like it's only with high doses. I've had trouble with migraines in the past and super high doses of ibuprofen and caffeine are the most effective thing, so I was very interested in what was safe, after I got pregnant. I get them only maybe 1-2x's year, if that now, after some dietary changes. I was getting lots of non-migraine headaches for awhile about 7-10 weeks, but they seem to have lessened now. Cool and dark helped me. Cool cloth, quiet room, not much light. There's also this stuff called Tiger Balm that helps headaches. When I got migraines, it could often help if I caught it soon enough. They used to sell it at Boots but I haven't seen it in awhile. http://www.tigerbalm.co.uk/intro.html Sorry for long post there....headaches were/are one of the symptoms I was really worried about.
@missymoo, maybe you could talk about your plans to go to a roller coaster park, or a hen weekend getting really drunk or some random thing that a pregnant woman would of course not do.Pick battles big enough to matter, small enough to win. - Jonathan Kozol0 -

Thank you iamjen, thats really helpful, i will stick to paracetomol then. I also have some tiger balm in the house as its good for joint pain and hubby uses that, dint realise it would help with headaches....erm just rub it on head?
Missymoo, Im finding it hard not to shout it from the rooftops lol, i have no idea how im going to keep my mouth shut for 3 months!
Im in two minds as to tell my work earlier because my job is quite pressured and stressful so am bit worried about it having affect on my lil bean, if they knew then at least it gives them the opportunity to take some pressure off....whats peoples thoughts?calamityclare:hello:

Good afternoon,
Is anyone 'techy' able to add my name to the dating scan list for 23 May please? I've managed to get booked in at 11+1 as a bit of a staff perk!
Off to a friend's party this afternoon. Will have to discretely sip my non-alcoholic drinks in the corner as everyone knows I would never choose soft drinks over wine unless pregnant!
Enjoy your Saturday.:j0 -

I have just turned 6 weeks and told work yesterday. I feel like it was way too early but have been feeling so rubbish - tired, sick, dizzy, low energy etc so wanted to get it out the way incase I need any time off or need to go home sick - would hate to make anything up as they have such a strick policy for absence.:T baby boy born 01/01/2012 my New Years Day Boy

Cloudberry, i know what you mean. I'm 6 + 3 and feeling pretty rough- tired, dizzy, nauseous, and proper M/S just kicking in. I could have killed for a 5 minute sit down and shut eyes yesterday after getting in at 6.20am with a 5.30 finish and throwing up violently in the loos during my meeting. _pale_
My work intranet does talk about the legislation requiring them to provide a quiet, private resting place for pregnant ladies, but it doesnt say where it it in my building. The only way to find out is to ask the health services people, but then i'll need to fess up, and i'm not ready to let my bosses know yet as its a bad time. Bit stuck as to what to do really. At the mo, my best option seems to be sneaking to my car in the basement car park, and grabbing 5mins there. Glamorous!Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!
