wish id thought of that but shes devious and would have phoned up and checked!!! I was just honest with her about having to go back to work and her long journey and how I cope better with things by myself in case etc etc, but she hasnt replied yet, so I imagine she is ranting at her husband. She probably thinks I'm taking my step mum, who to be honest I would prefer to take!! As she's great, very matronly, but I'm not taking anyone!!!

I'm going to have even more problems if OH can't get home in time for the birth, I really want my step mum as she is cool as anything under pressure, but my sister has already decided shes coming and my mum will just expect to be there!!!!!! aaaahhhhh Oh the joys!

There is a word, it is very small and so very very useful it goes 'No' .. it means 'I will not be walked all over' 'I will make my own decisions' 'I do not have to check my life plans with you' and 'I am a grown up, bog off!'

I wouldn't tell them when the scan is.. just pop round after with the pics.. an absent minded 'oh, were you? I don't remembe asking you to come' If she says she was supposed to be coming. I'd make it quite clear from the off you are not having your sister or your mum at the birth and make sure the hospital know it too.. My mother was at 7 of my deliveries.. but she is most stroppy and would fight my corner, or so I thought, if I needed her to.. when it came to the important one she didn't.. :(.. but don't lead them on letting them think they are coming when they are not... that gives them a right to be cross... tell them now plainly and that it is your decision!

hmmm I think you're right, my mum hasn't said anything about coming to the birth im sure she will broach it later, my sister prob wont speak to me for months when I tell her, and my stepmum has volunteered. It's difficult as it might not even happen. OH had just better bl00dy be home in time, or else they'll be hell to pay! Don't really fancy getting a taxi by myself to hospital, my family live 40 minutes away so looks like that would probably be what happens........?

Oh I can't drink tea either anymore! I miss it - tried to make a cup yesterday but felt sick before the kettle boiled!

OH wants pink - maybe it's just a pregnancy thing!!

Another one gone off tea here, can't even abide the thought of it at the moment, which is very unlike me. Have been obsessed with orange juice with lemonade today, sure there are worse things. Cravings last time were Shreddies and crumpets and jam. The Shreddies gave me a nice high iron level! Nothing as such so far this time (only 8 weeks ish though), although I would like to get rid of this stupid cold so I can actually taste things properly.

I will be 11 weeks on wednesday and got first booking in appointmnet with midwife this friday - no scan date yet. Fingers crossed that I will be given a scan date on friday. Going to tell work the next few days since I need time off on friday for this appointment and do not get holidays as work term-time. A few folk know but waiting for scan to tell the rest of folks and of course my daughter who is 4 - she keeps on asking about a brother or sister.
