Yay! Congratulations loumac. Now you can let go of some of the worry!
I feel your pain about the tired. I've been taking naps (two yesterday!) and still going to bed early. I'm up early this morning and feel like I have to get everything done in the next three or four hours before I'm exhausted again. Dishes put away, laundry in....trying to think what else I can do while hubby sleeps.
Nine days til the scan....eek! OH asks me last night "so, after this scan on the 5th, then can I tell my parents?". Bless him. We have the second, NHS scan just 3 1/2 weeks later at about 12 weeks, so I'm convincing him to hold off until then.
On beds, did you all uses cots from the beginning? We were moving around some furniture this past week and talking vaguely about baby arrangements. We're thinking about a Moses basket or bassinet only to start?Pick battles big enough to matter, small enough to win. - Jonathan Kozol0 -
we use a moses basket to start with geerally because its easier to have it next to our bed of a night time and during the day i can just brin it down stairs to use.now proud mum to 3 handsome boys :j latest one born 10/10/11:j0

12 to 24 week pregnancy thread
MSE Pregnancy Club 21
Just adding myself to the scan listmine is tomorrow and I'm petrified!
I'm finding it hard to keep up with the thread as I'm working at 2 jobs at the moment, although not sure how long I'll be able to keep it up for!! I'm 12+3 today and think I might have the beginnings of a bump, although to everyone else it probably looks like I should lay off the pies!! Although with morning sickness i have lost 9 pounds since I found out I was pregnantmw said not to worry as I will put it all back on and more in the next few months!
Hope everyone is well, RWB glad you got on well with your mwsorry to hear about the twin

I have 12 week scan on the 5th and we are telling his family the 8th/9th when we are over there for the weekend. but they will notice the second I take my coat off I am huge.. look like I have a mixing bowl up my front! I'll put pics on FB when we get back and my family are finding out that way.
We have a wicker crib (mothercare snug) which Squeak fitted in until about 6 months then she went into the cotbed. We are discussing whether to get a small cot for this one and get Squeak into a bed at 2 or keep her in the cotbed for as long as possible and get another matching one for Dot.
Flower.. I'm over there too... come play... I'll protect you from the fatties!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

It depends on your area how they do things.
Here the GP receptionist gives the number for the community MW office and you ring them and they send out notes for you to fill in and an booking appointment for around 10 weeks and they make the scan appt while you are at the booking appt.
Other areas the GP sends all the stuff to the hospital and you get an appointment through at 10-12 weeks for booking and scan.
You'll have to ring your GP surgery and ask about it I think to find out what the protocol is there..
Congratulations xx

At your first midwife's appt, did she draw blood? I've had some problems with anemia in the past, due to girly troubles, so I'd like to keep on top of it, since it's much harder to build up iron store than to prevent them from deteriorating. I have iron in my supplement and I've been eating tons of proteins (food cravings?), so I'm not *too* worried. I think I'm just pregnant
I have a book that list the antenatal visits, but there are two conflicting lists and yeah....just not sure if I should ring the GP?Pick battles big enough to matter, small enough to win. - Jonathan Kozol0
