    glad you're feeling better pigpen

an9i I'm glad you had a good birthday. Does you pregnancy feel more real now? Hope the booking appointment goes well. Could you let me know what happens so I know what to expect? I think they do blood tests and take a urine sample.

OMG nic that sounds awful! If you go to work and Oh doesn't, then OH should do the housework. Doing something useful builds self esteem! And it's 'our baby' as in you and OH's. Grrr. Have you seen a midwife yet? Sounds rubbish that you don't know if it's a scan or booking appointment.

I went out last night and didn't drink. We'd all decide to take a taxi for a destination that was 2 miles away - so I ended up paying 7 quid for the privilege of being driven and not drinking! People didn't really notice tho I just said I didn't want to drink - they don't know me well enough to expect me to drink or not drink.

What is everyone choosing as a birth choice? I think I would like a birth centre and not a hospital.

Hi BeNice. Well I didn't have that problem last night, the only silver lining to not drinking was being able to drive and save £££ on taxis!
Its hospital all the way for me, due to my medical condition. I'm going to ask for an elective caeasarian, my baby got into distress last time due to the syntocinon making me contract really strongly, I don't want another child after this one so they can mess with my womb all they like, and with all my medical problems its probably just far easier for them to do a caesar anyway. They should just put a zip in there!
  • 12 weeks today.

    2 days till my scan.
Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,
You don't even take him seriously,
How am I going to get to heaven?,
When I'm just balanced so precariously..
  • good luck for the scan MV. did the past 7 weeks go quickly?
I don't feel patient at all. I've been getting excited by reading stuff on the net and looking at piccies of what baby looks like week by week.
  • If I'm honest BNTM, no they've crawled by!

I just want to know everything is ok :o

I can't believe you've waited so long for your scan - were you tempted to get a private one at any point?

I couldn't wait until mine at seven weeks!
  • I've had 2 early scans, one at 4+5 and one at 6+5 as I had some spotting early on and a history of mc.

Both were fine, but I've not stopped worrying!

  • MV - you'll be fine only 2 more sleeps till you see a wriggling baby in your tummy :)

BNTMS I would like a water birth in a birthing centre if all goes to plan.

    Who else has,scans this week?
If at first you dont succeed, try, try again

My scan is the week after, on the 22nd, very exciting.

Is it usual to have the scan and then see a doctor after? My letter says that's what happens.

I always have, but then I'm like catnip to obstetricians due to my medical history, I have an unusual form of diabetes which requires special care in pregnancy. Its about the only time I get to feel special! I think if you're healthy / all goes well you can just see a midwife for most if not all of your pregnancy and no obstetrician needed?
