Hi ToothFairy - I've had twinges since just before I missed AF. Some are really really sharp pains that feel unlike anything else. I'm guessing it's just stuff stretching and moving about.Fritterati Challenge for 2013:

Thank you. First time being pregnant so I am totally clueless as to whats normal or not0

nikki your sil sounds lovely! if it helps I'm not telling my parents until 6 months so that they don't go mad trying to persuade me to have a quick wedding. isn't family great sometimes?
toothfairy I think I've read that the twinges are your womb expanding
have had a chat to family about early scans and decided it's probably not worth it. if a scan picks up something wrong its not going to hurt me less if it's 9 weeks or if it's 12 weeks. Nothing could prepare me for it or make it better.0 -

Sometimes my pains feel like moderate period pain, but they go away after a few hours. Apparently normal but something I wasn't expecting at all either!0 -
I've had weird short & sharp pinching pains which I think is normal too and everything seems to be going ok so far.0

these sharper pains are usually around the outside of the tum and are the ligaments stretching most often.. and are really painful if you sneeze suddenly.
I just have permanent aching tum at the moment but I think it is just wind lolLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Sorry to hear you're not feeling so good Pigpen. have you told the OH yet?
I have been geting a few twinges, nothing like last time though when I had proper menstrual-type cramps. Maybe because my uterus has stretched once before it does not need to stretch as much this time?
WelL I went out last night for my birthday, as I thought, it was obvious from the off to everyone what was going on, as soon as they realised I was not drinking they were all suspicious! Two of my presents were booze, and I just came clean and said I may not be able to drink these for a few months.....I let everyone know it is still very early days and didn't want to reveal it now but couldn't be bothered to try and lie. My friend who'd had a m/c before xmas seemed genuinely happy for me, she even said she hoped she'd taken all the bad luck.
Beginning to feel proper nausea today, it is definitely worse in the morning, went out for birthday lunch and struggled to eat it. Don't think I'll be going to restaurants again for a while!
I've got my antenatal booking appointment tomorrow, but have to wait til thurs for the scan - damn! Wanna see that heartbeat! Tempted to say I'm getting really bad cramps or something to see if they will move my scan forward, it won't be a waste of NHS resources as they would just cancel the other one - maybe I'll see if I get a sympathetic midwife.0 -
Afternoon all!
Well, I am the b!tch from hell at the moment - woe betide anyone who gets in my way!! I think I'm just super hormonal about being ready for such a huge responsibility. It doesn't help that DH is unemployed (he graduated in May), and MIL kind of facilitates his unemployment by constantly asking him to do things for her in the day, go for coffee, fix this, pick up that etc. And then I get home from work and have to clean, cook etc.
And the fact that his confidence atm is so low he doesn't feel he can even apply for any jobs. And the fact that yesterday MIL called us and asked how 'her baby' was doing. And she didn't mean him!
Trying to chill out, but just feeling mega stressed - like I'm the only one who gets that having a baby is so much more than getting something to cuddle and hand back. Grrrrrr.
Anyway, had a letter through about an antenatal appointment. The only thing is, it's at the wrong hospital, I don't know if it's a booking appointment or a scan (it'll be at 12+5) and it's come complete with a load of stickers for my bloods. That makes me think it must be a booking appointment. But then, when's the scan? Why is is booking appt at 12+5??? ARGH!!!
Rant over! Thanks for listening!Fritterati Challenge for 2013:
