AFM, my maternity trousers arrived yesterday and are a bit big - my bloating hasn't been quite so bad since I got them on Ebay, typical! Especially as most of my other trousers are still too tight and digging in at me, grr. Still feeling sick most of the time, trying to eat smaller meals throughout the day and healthy snacks, but is a big change for me so it's hard - normally I have breakfast, lunch and dinner with the odd biscuit or mini choccie bar thrown in!
Hope everyone has a fab weekend!SpecialK2013 wrote: »Hi Ladies,
Although I visit this website regularly, for all manner of things, this is the first time I have posted anything. As I'm so early on in my pregnancy, and therefore haven't told too many people, I would really appreciate having someone to talk to!
First question- I did a ClearBlue pregnancy test a few weeks ago which confirmed the pregnancy (yay!) and also gave an indication on when we conceived (2-3 weeks, which made me approx 4-5 weeks pregnant at the time- I think!). Anyway, so based on that calculation, I'm currently 7-8 weeks pregnant and I have my first (8 week appointment) with the midwife on the 18th February (eek!). Anyway, although the test indicates that I'm 7-8 weeks pregnant, I haven't actually had a period since the 26th November, which if I'm going off that, I'm actually 10plus weeks pregnant. Anyway, my question is, how will the midwife know how far along I am when I see her for my '8 week' appointment? Or will I have to wait for my 12 week scan? I guess it'd be a good thing if I turned up to my 12 week scan and found out that I was actually further along than that, but keeping this pregnancy a secret isn't nice, especially when I've got morning sickness and feeling awful
That brings me to my second question, any tips on helping morning sickness? I've been sick the past four mornings (sorry, too much info) and feel sick all day. I can't remember the last time I properly enjoyed a meal!
Anyway, sorry for the rambly message! I tried speaking to a midwife (over the phone) at my local hospital, as advised by my GP, and the lady I spoke to was SO UNHELPFUL. I'm scared to ring again, haha!!!
Thank you ladies, I look forward to hearing from you.
Xthey are wrapped in packs of three.

It's just occured to me that I should probably introduce myself a little. Umm, I'm 26 (27 in April) and I've been with my boyfriend for 10 years in October (yep- no ring yet!)and we've been trying to conceive since late Summer 2012. At Christmas, as nothing had happend (or so we thought!), we decided to put baby making on hold so I could take a new job, book a holiday, relax etc etc and BINGO, I'm pregnant!
I'd love to hear a little bit about you all.
X
I was very anxious the first time particularly that scans would show terrible problems etc. I hope to enjoy the pregnancy more this time and try to worry less. Somebody said Nausea starts at 6 weeks. This was my first symptom last time- before I had a BFP and the same this time. Already had a few waves of nausea. It does get worse before it gets better though and 6-11 weeks the worst.2016 MFW OPd £2000, 2015 MFW OPd 3000 then bought new bigger house with bigger mortgage.Beautiful boys born May 2011 and October 2013

Thanks for all the travel tips ladies! I know I shouldn't be worried but it's just being somewhere remote with no hospitals nearby slightly worries me. I'm sure all will be fine though
Will be 5 weeks tomorrow and very excited!
Good luck to everyone else waiting in excited anticipation!0 -
I have just realised that I'm going to be very broke for the next 2 months so being tired and nausea would give me a good excuse to avoid going out.
congratulations Toothfairy, nice to see you on here
welcome to the thread Special and congratulations
thanks for the advice and reasssurance bigbird, lao_cat, dippydooda and sparkles , it helped me feel a lot calmer about having no pregnancy symptoms. I'll have to lurk over to the next thread for more happy stories.

Just a very quick delurk on the subject of holidays...
Lobey - Check your travel insurance docs on cover for pregnancy. I flew to California when I was 8 or 9 weeks, and it was fine. Had to use the plane loo more times than normal
MV - Did you know that if you're flying after 28 weeks pregnant, most airlines require a fit to travel doc from your gp/mw. Not sure if you are aware? Maybe double check with your airline?0 -

Can I join in? I'm currently 8 weeks pregnant with baby no 2.
Was admitted to hospital last Sunday with dehydration due to excessive morning sickness, my normal GP told me I was over exaggerating the issue. The hospital said I should have been admitted as soon as I seen the GP.
Morning sickness is now semi under control with anti sickness drugs.0 -
I don't have any symptoms either my boobs are a tiny bit bigger, my belly looks like I had a big lunch but that's about it. We should be grateful we arnt feeling horrid, plenty of pregnant ladies would love to feel this normal!
MV - thinking of you my sweet, the few days before my scan I was a wreck with nerves!
Hello lovely new people *waves* seems strange that only a few weeks ago, that was me, panicking that I wouldn't get to the next week let alone the 12 week scan. Just remember that the majority of pregnancies and births are all fine, the odds really are in your favour xxx
Ps. It is soooo lovely starting to tell people and getting the congratulationsIf at first you dont succeed, try, try again0
