Woweee I love this thread
its so happy!
I've had my first scan but they said I'm only 10wks, so it's under the length needed for nuchal screening, therefore I get another in 2wks time.
It was very exciting though - you could see the little heartbeat and it was shaped just like the pictures in the books. Plus it made it real for OH who clearly wasn't looking at me, just his mini-me in aweIf you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0 -
hi nikki, glad your sickness is under control. I think a lot of people haven't heard how serious the sickness can be, lots of people were very harsh about Kate Middleton and quite unfairly so.
butler it's sounds such a happy occasion to have a scan! how cute!
hi rum, how many weeks are you? glad you're feeling calmer. I think I'll feel a lot better after that important scan.
spoke to OH about paying for a 9 week scan and he thought it wouldn't be worth spending the money. also talked about nausea and he wouldn't accept it was 'all the time' nausea because of the term 'morning sickness'. I wish I was in that much blissful ignorance!0 -
I need a little moan.. sorry to disrupt the happiness of the thread..
I have a raging UTI. I normally have a low grade UTI right through pregnancy which goes straight after sproglings arrive but this is really bad already.. Always on a Saturday isn't it? I feel pap..My bladder feels like it is full of acid and wasps!.. and my kidneys hurt.. you watch it be fine by Monday so I won't need to go to drs ggrrrr
No nausea for the last few days though and OH is on food duty tonight..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Sympathies PP, I have one too, although mine doesn't seem to be giving me too much gip at the moment.
I am taking 4 antibiotic tablets a day for a week to clear mine up. Can you get some asap from your GP?Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
I'd be more than lucky to get an appt on Monday if it is still bad by then. I try not to take ABs as I end up with thrush, to the point I ask for canesten when I get them now. Our surgery you cannot prebook appts you have to ring at 8am and by 8:10 all the appts have gone so you have to wait and try again the next day.. it is a total farce.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

Ugh that sounds like my poxy surgery. It's easier winning the lottery than getting an appointment there sometimes.
I managed to get prescribed mine from the obsti I saw last week which luckily meant I bypassed the GP altogether.
I guess you can't do much except try and flush it out with water/Cranberry and take it easy honey. Hope you feel better soon xMetranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
OH is in an @r$e with me now because I just refused to put dinner out after he cooked.. ha!
Oooh I have some poison (potassium) citrate upstairs.. I'll go make myself sick with that.. that is supposed to work on irritable bladders.. I've probably got ABs somewhere too that would do..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

!
Thanks. I think many people still think 'your only pregnant, get on with it' The midwife on the ward told me that its the most common reason for being admitted to the early pregnancy unit but GPs are horrendous at referring patients up. Saying that it did take me 7 hours to convince NHS24 that I needed an out of hours appointment. The fact I hadn't pee'd in 48 hours wasn't an issue??
Hopefully its onwards and upwards from here. I now just need to deal with SIL telling everyone that a) I'm lying about being pregnant and b) that I'm doing it to take the attention away from her LO. Sigh.0 -
Is it normal to feel the odd sharp twinge? Have been getting this a few times a day, feels a bit like period pain but only lasts for about 5-10 seconds each time.0

everything is normal just about. Unless you get very severe pain or bleeding twinges then anything goes.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0
