Good evening all, welcome abis, Amus and all the recent joiners. There is so much chat on here its hard to keep track. Great to see the thread very active over the last couple of days.
@inshock, congrats on the scan
AFM 11wks4 and honestly the last few weeks have flown by. I keep looking at my scan photo to remind myself there is a baby on board. To all those who are not feeling pregnant, I can empathise. Even though we had had 2 scans and have been advised that all is well and the risk is signifiantly reduced I still don't feel pregnant!!0 -
Hi all
I'm another who sometimes feels like I'm not actually pregnant!! Sometimes get really bad nausea in the morning, but fine apart from that. I've kinda gotten used to having big boobs though lol!
Had my first booking in appointment on Monday, they split it over two appointments here so have the second one next week. Going by my dates I'm 7 weeks tomorrow, but as I have irregular cycles, I'm taking that with a pinch of salt until we have our scan.
Hope we haven't tempted fate, but have ended up with a whole heap of people knowing...all family, apart from my boss, but still, I'd rather have kept it quiet for a bit longer. I am quite glad I told my boss though as she has been really supportive and has let me start later on days when I do feel very sick, and has a cuppa waiting for me on my desk for when I get in! I think one of the other girls I work with has guessed though, but as she hasn't said anything, I'm not going to bring it up til after 12 weeks...only 5 to go, can't wait.
To those who have been pregnant before, do you ever get to a point in the pregnancy when you just relax and enjoy it?! Just now every twinge or anything gets me panicking, and its going to drive me insane if the next 8 months are like this!0 -

I don't. I have had 7 miscarriages and mostly prem babies (30-37 weeks) so spend the entire time waiting for the next one and knicker twitching.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

I think to be honest you always worry! First few months its miscarriage, after 12 week scan its 20 week anomaly scan, when baby starts moving is he/she moving enough, then its giving birth...
IMO it gets better when you start showing and can feel baby moving, makes it all seem real! So in that sense you do enjoy it more!0 -

I think it depends on the person. Having had the experience I have, no, I don't ever stop worrying. I am slightly more relaxed now my son is 15 months old however....
If you've never had your fingers burned, I would assume you would panic less the further along you get. The whole 'getting past 12 weeks' thing seems to help a lot of people.14th October 201020th October 20113rd December 20130 -

To answer your question - I don't think I ever stopped worrying but that was interspersed with good times too. I remember when the babba started moving, I'll never forget the first time I was in a meeting making someone redundant (!) and was trying to look like I was concentrating but inside I was thrilled! Then later on when he was bigger and kicking more, my partner would put his arms round my bump in bed and feel baby, that was nice.
Then just before the birth I began to feel anxious again - although I have more to be anxious about due to my diabetes. It was good to finally get him out and home - although I did miss feeling him inside me once he was out.
I will say one thing - having your first baby is I think the most exciting experience you can ever go through. Nothing can ever top the sense of anticipation and excitement that gradually built up over those nine months. Although having a second will be lovely, I know it won't be in the same league as that first time experience of becoming a mum.0 -
I have a doppler (I'm lurking here again from the 12-24 thread:p)
MV - I had a UTI last time around 7 weeks if I recall. I didn't know I had it, but got a call from docs to pick up anti bs asap. Be thankful you don't have MS, because while I was on the anti bs the MS was just unbearable. I felt absolutely awful the 7 days I was on them. This time I've been much more careful to avoid a UTI - drinking and peeing all the time
bride2be2012 - for me last time I relaxed once I'd had both scans and I had regular movements from DD which was probably around 24 weeks. Although I had a few days where I panicked a little due to lack of movements!! I think it helped me just to feel more human again too - because you get to get on with life and normal day to day things, whereas in the earlier days I seem to spend them feeling sorry for myself on the sofa and have more time to think....Baby Giz born 6/2/110 -

Hi
I've just managed to convince myself I'm pregnant as I had a faint line on a test. Then I used a clearblue digi that actually said the word pregnant, hurrah! So now I'm convinced. I don't feel pregnant at all!
nice to see a few familiar faces from the TTC thread0 -
