Congrats to engagedlady and good luck to all those with scans. I am having an early scan in 2 weeks - 14th Feb and hopefully there'll be a little valentine's heart beat to go with that. I was hoping they'd scan me today as I went in to get the diabetes controlled, but the midwife said it was too early. Even if they only saw the yoke sak it would be nice to at least know it was really there and also that it was in the right place ,also as I was on clomid there isa higher chance of twins although not sure if there'd be two yolk saks then?

Anyway I'm sure the NHS has got better things to spend its money on that just doing a scan for me because it's 'nice'. Just got to get through the next two weeks now, and see that heartbeat, I will feel a lot more reassured once I see that although of course it can go wrong after that too. Anyway I need to be positive and hope for the best. This anxiety really dampens the pregnancy, if I knew for sure nothing would go wrong I'd feel sooooo happy but the whole excitement is tinged with fear. I didn't M/C last time so the negative part of my brain keeps telling me it's my turn now because I was lucky before.

I think I'm beginning to feel the first twinges of nausea. I know I'll regret saying this if it gets intense but I actually want to start feeling sick becuase it's proof the pregnancy is progressing.

    Afternoon all

Hope everyone is ok today, I'm feeling dreadful again, I know sickness is meant to be a good sign but that's really not making me feel any better. I've had to ring in work sick again no way I could go in in this state I am a mess :( I've been like this with my last 2 pregnances just hoping it eases soon, I'm really struggling.

Anyway sorry to moan, we have told alot of people even though I'm only about 7ish weeks mainly because of my sickness and certainthings I can't do at work.

    Xx

Evening all, just wondering if anyone has heard from Rumfeeble recently? Haven't seen an update in a while. If u are lurking I hope all is well and you got your scan date!
  • Hi everyone, just a update from me - my boobs are killing me! Every time i move they ache, is it supposed to be this bad lol? Got my first appointment with the gp on tuesday, i am not sure what he is goin to do but they said it would be at least twenty minutes. I am feeling like i got too lucky by having a bfp so soon and that something will go wrong, also pretty guilty about anouncing so soon after trying on the other thread.
    How is everyone else doing?

Somebody needs to slap me the knicker twitching and POAS repeatedly is getting ridiculous!

Im just super paranoid after my last pg ending in mc, but at the same time I know theres no point stressing about it because what will be will be.

Theres no point yet as im not far enough along but im definitely going to see if my epu will scan me when im far enough along to see a heartbeat (although I do know there are no guarantees even then) to put my mind at rest. I just couldnt bear getting to 12 weeks to be told there was n viable pg. I do have a doppler though so hopefully will be able to hear something from 9w like I did with ds2.

    Need to think positive...

Glad I'm not the only one still POAS - I've become obsessed! I think once you are past the first couple of weeks it would take a while for the HCG to go down anyway so not sure why I keep doing it! Maybe to make up for all the months when I got negatives! I still like seeing the little pink test line come up even if I already know what the answer will be. I'm also knicker twitching - keep basically checking there's no blood up my foof (sorry if TMI). I think I'll proper freak out if ever there is.

Time is dragging since I got my BFP - it's only been five days feels like a lifetime.

For all those worry warts out there (that'll be all of us then) I found this really interesting site on M/C and how to reduce the risk.

    Some info
    How to avoid miscarriage:
    • consume chocolate (causes a 17% lower risk of miscarriage) more...
    • consume dairy products daily (leads to a 33% lower risk of miscarriage) more...
    • consume cheese (causes a 50% reduced risk) more...
    • consume milk (40% lower risk) more...
    • consume eggs (causes a 30% reduced risk) more...
    • eat a high fiber diet more...
    • eat fruit (causes a 46% to 70% lower risk of miscarriage, depending on the study) more...
    • eat fish (leads to a 30% lower risk of miscarriage) more...
    • eat poultry or fish twice a week (leads to a 15% lower risk) more...
    • eat vegetables (causes a 40% reduced risk of miscarriage) more...
    • conceive either one day before ovulation or on the day of ovulation (57% lower risk) more...
    • extend your period to longer than 5 days (causes a 60% reduced risk of miscarriage) more...
    • make it to 7 weeks pregnant with a visible fetal heartbeat (causes overall risk to drop to 5%) more...
    • have morning sickness (70% lower risk of miscarriage; risk goes down as severity of nausea goes up) more...
    • feel happy (causes a 60% lower risk) more...
    • consume flaxseed (causes a 64% lower risk in cows) more...
    • consume fish oil more...
    • exercise (lowers risk of miscarriage of a healthy fetus by 40%; however, there are opposing studies) more...

Hmmm im not sure how accurate that site is given that most early miscarriages are a result of genetic anomalies, none of which can be changed by any of those things.

I think as long as you try to eat healthily, dont do drugs, drink alcohol etc. thats all you can do.

exactly.. 1 in 3 pregnancies end in mc and many don't even know they were even pregnant.. most are supposedly down to foetal abnormalities.. tbh, I'd rather face a mc than have a baby who would be very very sick potentially.

Don't smoke needs to be added to the list of do nots..

And don't stress it, stress has a very negative effect on mini beastlings

Anyway... we are all going to have lovely healthy midnight squawkers.
