evening
I'm getting excited now I have told a few more people and so has OH. I'm feeling optimistic, like people have said, as long as you are not doing really stupid stuff, like extreme sports, then there is nothing more you can do. LOL I feel like I've gone from a 2 week wait to an 8 week wait now! OK maybe a 4 week wait until I see MW and then it might be a bit more real. No symptoms whatsoever!
Floydster I'm so glad you have your lovely baby
Hugs nicp - maybe speaking to a midwife will ease your mind a bit
gizmondo hope the cyst disappears by your next scan0 -
Well I am on my second 2WW as i have my scan on 14th - i'll be just under 7 weeks by then so whilst there could be a heartbeat, a lack of heartbeat doesn't necessarily mean anything is wrong, it could just be a late developer. So hopefully that means I can't lose!
I'm being strangely optimistic today and beginning to give in to that curious beast called hope, that everything will be ok. I went into mothercare and had a sneaky peak at the newborn clothes but will not buy anything until after the scan at least.
Hope the cyst goes away Gizmodo, that makes sense now, and good the cramps have died down Nicp. Just think the cramps are prob your womb preparing itself which is a GOOD thing, as it means the pg is progressing.0 -
Nic.. I don't need to know the answer to this but.. if you have been constipated which is very common and normal in the first few months the cramps could be that, even trapped wind can be agony.
Giz.. don't worry about the cyst they are really not anything to worry about.. the comment on the size was more likely that it was over a certain size (usually small enough to be measured in mm) and at a certain point they can become painful. My friend has PCOS and until she was about 18 weeks the cyst was bigger than the baby.. by the time her daughter arrived it was almost gone. My mother has had lots drained with a local anaesthetic and a long syringe.. but hers were enormous and dangerous.
My scan is going to be over a month away.. I am going to be ginormous by then!!

I know what you mean, I go between hopeful to wanting to hold my horses! Good luck for you valentine's scan x
I have IBS so I'm not sure if I'll even detect cramps or any change in loo habits. The delights of the human body, eh?0 -

I have IBS too and it's actually been loads better in pregnancy, couple of times I've had pains and not been able to take meds but I figured it'll prepare me for labour! My food intolerances are so much better though, I've hardly had any problems and not had the constipation others complain of either. Hope you have the same!0 -

I figured if the worst happens, I will be upset anyway no matter what I think now, so I may as well try and enjoy it a little and give in to the excitement. Its hard though as you don't wanna feel like you're setting yourself up for a fall. I'm the kind of person who tries not to build things up too much, as I fall so hard when I fall down, I'm not very good at dealing with bad stuff in life, so I always try and protect myself a little.
Ah well it's all in the hands of fate now anyway.0 -

sometimes I think I get too unhappy about bad news/ events but too be honest I think everyone does! especially the kind of bad news we're talking about. Lets keep up the hope and PMA.0 -

I didn't use to be quite so anxious/pessimistic but I had a really bad experience last year when I nearly lost the sight in one eye, and ever since then I've been much more cautious of things and risk-aware. I even thought at one point I might not be able to have any more kids, as pregnancy can make the condition worse, but I've been given the ok by my doctor now.
I think a lot is about learning to trust life though - even if one particular experience doesn't go well doesn't mean the next one won't. I have two friends who had problems last year - one gave birth a few weeks ago and the other is about ready to pop, just goes to show everything turns out right in the end.
Right I'm going to try not to talk about negative things any more, this is an exciting time and I mean to enjoy it!
I was thinking of my little boy becoming a big brother last night, I can't wait to see him in his new role!
Sore boob city for me this morning - but it's like a little inbuilt pregnancy test, I find them quite reassuring.0 -

Me too. I was having all sorts of bowel problems a few years prior to the first pregnancy, the day I got pregnant it pretty much went away. I was able to eat all the white carbs and takeaways under the sun without getting ill. This lasted all the way through pregnancy and breastfeeding and then gradually got worse again with time once my periods came back. Sure it's linked to the cycles for me.
This time I'm back on the white carbs without suffering, but am a bit constipated...think that's more due to simply not drinking enough. Even now at 12 weeks I'm struggling to drink throughout the day. Ice cold water works but is so boring. And tea is good, but limiting myself to 2 a day.
Pigpen - thanks for your post. That does make me feel a bit better.
I told DD that there is a baby in my tummy last night. She lifted her dress up, pointed to her belly and said "baby!". Hmmmm...not quite what I meantEveryone keeps asking me if she's excited about the news...which I find odd because she's 2 (nearly) and I honestly don't think she'll have any idea of what I'm talking about. Maybe she's a bit behind in development?! I don't know. I guess I'll keep talking to her about it and when the bump moves she can feel. I guess by the time she's 2.5 she might get what is going to happen.
