  • My friends little girl is nearly two and when we ask her where my baby is she points to my stomach and she keeps giving me her dolls to hold and showing me how to cuddle them, but I don't think they really understand at that age!

My little neice (3)was absolutely fascinated when I had my son - we showed her pictures of me in hospital when he was being born - next thing, she got her little sister to hide under her skirt and come out as though she was being born!
  • fantastic! I'm looking forward to drinking milk again and hoping it doesn't upset my tummy. I do feel like my digestive system is a bit slower but I could be imagining it. No pregnancy symptoms here, I would think I was imagining it if I hadn't done a digi test. Boobs feel bigger but not sore - that could be my Christmas pudding weight tho!

what food rules is everyone following? I think no raw meat, fish or eggs and unpasteurised milk. I can't be bothered to avoid peanut butter cos I like it too much.

I have not been moisturising my body before this but I have loads of lotions and body butters to use up. I think I'll concentrate on the hip and belly mostly. Is everyone else doing a moisturising routine? I did lose 2.5 stone last year so I think I probably have all the stretchmarks that I'm going to get!

foodwise.. if I want to eat it I bloody well will.. I wouldn't eat raw meat or raw fish anyway that is just gross.. dippy eggs are fine so long as red lions are present on the box.. they are vaccinated against salmonella so are safe... I occasionally fancy fried eggies. Peanut butter is disgusting.. the smell alone makes me upchuck.. ditto coffee. I think the nut thing is mainly for those with allergies in the family.. the protein in it is really good for you. I don't drink milk either.. ever..

I don't bother moisturising any more.. stretchmarks are started in the lower layers of skin and moisturiser only works on the outer layers so it is fairly pointless.. staying well hydrated is a better way of preventing them, though it is all down to genetics and elastin in the skin.

    Afternoon all!
Looks like i'm going to be joining you. POAS this afternoon and Had a pretty faint positive. but the 2nd line is certainly visable, though not as clearly as the control line.
AF isn't due until Monday, but i'm sure i will retest pretty soon after that! Poss Tuesday AM.
I think i am due 11/10/2013 - Hurrendous planning on my part, already have November and December children! I will be skint forever.
Will pick up some folic acid today! :) Congratulations all!

  • Hi all, can I join? Have just found out I'm pregnant after trying for a year. I got pregnancy tests in bulk off amazon and I keep POAS to prove to myself that I am actually really pregnant. Have worked out I'm probably due 10th Oct so it's still very very early days but I'm so ridiculously excited and can't wait to tell OH when he gets home from work. I'm trying not to get too excited for obvious reasons so am trying to be sensible and work out finances and things like that.
  • welcome lolly and couragous, I'm due about the same time.

it's strange to know so early on when nothing seems to happen! I have ordered 'what to expect when you're expecting' from amaz*n because I want to know more. Can't stop looking at the internet today to find out more.
  • Hi all, hope everyone is having a nice weekend. I spent a good couple of hours chilling out at my mums today having tea and cake and talking about babies while DH was at work, good stuff!

Wasn't going to buy anything baby related until 12 weeks, but I am so bloated I think I may have to get some maternity trousers. About 5 years ago I had to have one of my ovaries removed and still have the scar (I'm guessing it's similar to a C-Section scar) and all my clothes seem to dig into it - living in my PJs at home!

Welcome to our new joiners congrats and wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy!

@giz congrats on the scan. It is natural to be worried about the cyst but hopefully they just mentioned the size as a precaution!

@rumfeeble glad things are going well and great news that you have your scan date! Only a couple more days to wait!

@mv, big hugs for being worried and sending you loads of sticky bean vibes. The wait for scans seems to last forever!

AFM I am 12wks 1 day. Went out with DH yesterday to watch the rugby,
He was pretty drunk which when you are completely sober is not nearly as much fun as when you have had a few! I guess I should start thinking about moving to the next thread... I am feeling really run down like I am fighting a cold and can't seem to shake it at all.
Trying to eat well and get loads of rest, not sure there is a whole lot else I can do.

    Hope everyone is well x x x
