Hey girls, back again after a little scare this week, started bleeding, not alot but having had previous miscarriages I was a little concerned, went to hospital and they tried to turn me away as im not registered in the area yet as i never got my drs changed from when i lived in london. anyway i demanded someone see me, said it was a poor excuse not to at least examine me, eventually after 4 hrs stuck to the hospital reception i got seen and everything is ok!
    Glad everything is OK :)

Anyone else had a private scan or are you all holding off for the 12 week scan?
No, waiting for 12 weeks. I'm too tight to pay!

Im 10+3 today and still no sign of a scan letter, I got quite excited when I got an NHS envelope in the post only to discover it was my exemption certificate for free prescriptions. I dont even know who I should phone to chase an appointment?
I did exactly the same thing (ripped open the NHS letter in excitement to find the exemption card!)
There is a set of numbers in my book - nothing similar in yours?
Otherwise phone the midwife - they may well chase it up for you or worst case give you a number to phone. I chased mine up last Thursday (as recommended by Midwife) and they hadn't processed it then. I then got my letter the Saturday morning :)

Not looking forward to them trying to get all these blood samples out of me though - I have the most pathetic veins known to man and it is always such a fight and struggle - urgh.
Good luck with your scan :) Look forward to finding out how far a long you are :)

I'm terrible for them finding my veins too, but I was told to drink a pint of water before hand and since I've been doing that I've not had a problem since. Have you tried that?

Back at work today and I do feel so much better - I'm sure being busy keeps my mind of things. The weekends I just feel so icky and it's worse cos I'm sat dwelling on it. I think I need to get out more. Sadly there's a case of chicken pox going round my group of friends kids :( So I avoided them this weekend. The midwife said I'm fine, but there's just a part of me that doesn't want to risk it. I hope DD doesn't get it.

  • Hi

Hope everyone is doing ok :)

Feel like having a very long weekend this week... I had to come home from work about 11 on friday because I kept being sick :( yesterday work was closed because of the snow and today I'm working from home because I can't get the car out.

MW appointment on friday, eek! Makes things all seem very real!

Still having horrid amounts of morning sickness :( if anyone who doesn't seem to be having any symptoms would like some of mine your more than welcome!! :p have been ill every day since the 20th December now!

I know i'm new here but could anyone offer me advice?

Long story short i've been bleeding after ovulation after coming off the pill for the past 8 months. On the 16th of jan i went to the docs and they tested me for STD's which i knew it wasnt (had the results back today and they came back clear). Booked an app with the doc today and she said becuase i'm not bleeding now i dont need to worry (which iam). I'm really not happy with this as it still happened for 8 months and might be an ongoing problem.

Can i refer myself to see anyone as try and sort this problem, i also dont have a MW app till the 5th of march and ill be 11 weeks by then. I'm worried sick about the baby and have been for the past 8 months i've been putting up with this bleeding :(

    Any advice?

No real advice I'm afraid. I guess without the symptoms and being pregnant now there's not much they can do to investigate? But if you're concerned you've just got to push it.

I had something similar where when I came off the pill I had abnormal bleeding that I felt could point to endometriosis. I was in absolute agony every month and had investigations etc and they never conclusively gave me any answers. I then got pregnant and never had a problem all the way through pregnancy and breastfeeding - then when my periods finally came back, each month got worse and worse again, although still not as bad as before the first baby. And now I'm pregnant again it's all gone. So whatever it is for me, it must be linked to my cycles.

Hope you find some answers (hugs)

  • Sorry if this is too much TMI, but I've just been to the bathroom and there was some pink coloured discharge, and I'm now panicking I'm going to miscarry. This is my first baby and have no idea what to do? I'm not due to see midwife til Monday, so don't even know for sure how far gone I am, I think I'm about 5 weeks.

This was near enough what i had at first the other day, if its easy for you to get to a&e then thats what i did, if anything this will relax you a little, i was told with mine that it is quite common to get this and as long as you arent in any pain 9 times out of 10 you will be just fine. fingers crossed you will get the thumbs up like i did, best of luck x
