  • On my scan letter, it gives you the chance to re-schedule providing you contact them within 7 days of the letter. The exact wording is:

If we do not hear from you within 7 days of the date of this letter, we will assume that you are accepting this appointment as a reasonable offer. If you change your appointment date outwith this 7 day window, your guaranteed waiting time will restart from the date you changed your appointment. More than 2 changes or failure to attend your appointment without giving prior notice may result in you being removed from the waiting list.

Just wondering if I could pick the brains of those who already have date for their scan booked... do you get given an appointment or is it something you can book yourself?

We're supposed to be going away for a couple of days during my 12th and 13th weeks (booked before we found out i was pregnant) and I was wondering if it would be best to cancel whilst I still have time or whether we might be able to book the scan for when we're at home.

    tink x

I would be inclined to phone up now, as the scan is done week 11,12 or 13 normally (I think for the nuchal test though - so I guess if you're refusing this then it might not matter). But maybe if you phoned you could get an appointment for week 11?

I was told to phone the scan department two weeks after my booking appointment if I haven't heard from them. Got one more week to go. Time is going so slow :(

Did anyone scare themselves watching One Born Every Minute? I'm determined not to be too whinny but DH is having fun taking 'notes' about this for the big day! Lol!

I watched it. OH told me I was really good during labour last time. The only two things I remember losing patience with him was when he was too slow with the gas and air when I was asked to get out the pool for a check...I got a contraction and he was faffing!

And the other thing he did was when he kept offering water, he puts the straw too high for me to drink out of lol Really petit - but I guess it's those things that annoy you :)

I cannot wait to give birth again, it's an amazing experience. There's a small part of me that's worried that maybe I had it too easy last time and I could be in for a shock :)

In other news, I've been wearing a safety pin on my trousers!! So much better! The problem now is I'm out of long tops that go far enough to cover the bits I'm not doing up, so don't know what to wear tomorrow. Definitely got to go out this weekend and get some more clothes.

    Hi everyone,

Haven't been around for a while but I'm now 10+ weeks and I'll have my booking in appt and scan on Tuesday. I've been very lucky with nausea, I feel nauseous in the afternoons but it eases after a few hours and its pretty much every other day, I have had one episode of sickness.

Work is completely exhausting me - I've qualified as a nurse since my girls were born so I've never had the fun of working a 14 hour shift while pregnant before and DH is stunned at how tired I am. When I can I have been dropping girls to school and going back to bed for a while (I never sleep during the day, even when the girls were new born!) I spoke with my ward manager last week, I have quite a few problems with my legs and my pelvis separated during my last pregnancy, I was on crutches at 5 months, so I felt I needed to warn her just in case. She was brilliant and is delighted for me. We've also told our girls and they are delighted at the prospect of a new baby but not so thrilled at the thought of nappies!

Oh bloating is so much fun!!! I am fine in the mornings but as the day goes on I get bigger, hubby actually pointed it out last night, its so firm too. Jeans are now a no no in the evenings and I live in my jeans - I can wear leggings and track bottoms in the house but I'm having to wear skirts and dresses if we go out. We're heading out tomorrow night, it's youngests 7th birthday on Monday so we're taking her to an ice hockey match - I'll be in a skirt!

Welcome to all the newbies, hope everyone is doing well and the little ones are not causing too much sickness xo

We're still waiting for a date for our official scan. We were told at the MW appointment that one would be sent through the post (i.e. no need for us to call).

We're 11 weeks gone so far and OH is starting to panic. So I'll be chasing them tomorrow, unless a letter has arrived today.

Called the hospital, apparently our 'case' is with the midwife for 'vetting'. No idea what that means :(
  • Girls, I am having a little freak-out!

Again today I am feeling great, no MS, no tiredness, even DH's coffee smell didnt bother me. I will be 9 weeks this weekend. I am now completely paranoid about a missed misscarriage, que me googling and freaking myself out even more. I had my booking in appointment yesterday and told the MW I was concerned I wasnt feeling as rough as I expected and she just said I must be lucky.

Someone slap me, it doesnt help that I am on my own in the office today and its quiet so I have too much time on my hands to think.

Board hopping from the 12-24 thread but could you give into some maternity jeans already? I've been wearing mine since 8 weeks as I live in jeans and they are practical for work so gave in as soon as the bloat hit and so glad I did because at 15 weeks now I need them so I've got an extra couple of months wear from them!

I know it's hard not to worry (my wife is the same) but just read back through the last few pages. Plenty of posters have said they didn't have symptoms or that the ones they did have went away.
