  • I too have seen very little maternity stuff exceptnim sure our debenhams has stuff. (Reading).

I just wish I could leave the house - sickness has lead to my doctor signing me off for four weeks (5 including last week). Knowone sells it like this do they?!

  • Girls, You are all wonderful and have really helped make me a little less paranoid, I am so glad I am not the only one feeling this way. It really does help knowing that I have someplace I can come and be as neurotic as I like and you all just 'get it'

To those of us with similar worries - Arnt we all mighty lucky to not be feeling rubbish right now - lets make the most of it :)

    welcome littleskintdragon

yumyums - dont feel guilty, have a duvet day and take care of you and your bump for a day, work can manage without you I am sure!

helen - so sorry you are feeling so rough - big hugs

MV I too feel a bit jealous of ladies that have already had their scans and know all is well and have cute little bumps to show off already when all I have is a belly that looks like it ate too many crisps. It will be our turn very soon for perfect 12 wk scans and perfect bumps :)

nutshell, I cant get excited till Ive seen that scan either, and I am refusing to buy any bigger clothes or bras (even though I need them now as mine are uncomfortable) how far along are you?

gizmodo - I wish time would wizz by a bit for the next couple of weeks, they seem to be taking AGES!! hugs for the terrible shopping trip how dissapointing. I too dont yet have a scan date :(

Karrie - I love you DP's theory - and and I love that you call it bumpling!!

mishka - I kinda hope the symptoms dont come back at 10 weeks although it would be reassuring.

Bodge - me and my DH also are having disagreements about finding out the sex of the baby

No Angel - good luck for the exam - hope your not feeling too bad xxx
If at first you dont succeed, try, try again

Rum, I should be 9 weeks on Wednesday, but I'm not 100% as I only had 1 irregular period after being on the pill for a long time.

    Congratulations littleskintdragon

    Congrats littleskintdragon!

Has anyone else had a sick day from work ? I feel very rough this morning and feel awful about not going in... Can't even give a proper explanation

Not yet. Might do yet though if I pick up one of these illnesses going round. Going to a party later and one of the mums has "the worst cold she's had in ages"...I do not want that when all I can take is paracetamol.

And now hubby has come home from work sick. My worst fear is he has the norovirus, but I'm thinking more likely food poisoning. He's not allowed to touch anything in the house! Now I need to clean the bed sheets again and clean the bathroom. Not what I feel like doing right now.

Finally got my flu jab booked for Friday. Hope I'm not too late. There's a lot of snotty children at school :)

Got very excited this morning to receive a letter from the NHS...sadly it was my maternity exemption certificate :(

I've given in and bought a maternity bra as my old ones were barely covering me! I've gone up 1 back size and 2 cup sizes :(

Rum, having complained about no symptoms today I am sick as a dog, so now I am taking each day as it comes and cherishing those times I'm not wrapped around the loo.

Yumyums, I've rearranged meetings today and am working from home. Luckily my colleague who I work v closely with knows and is sworn to secrecy but I'm teaching tomorrow so if I'm sick i'll just have to do it discreetly between seminars. Its a horrible feeling when you are used to being fighting fit!

C'mon 2nd trimester hurry up and get here so I start to feel normal

    Welcome and congrats littleskintdragon

Hope everyone is well, hugs to those who are having a rough time with ms or disappearing symptoms.

I have given in and decided to buy a new bra, I have gone up 2 cup sizes and a little on the back. I feel so much more comfortable and my boobs are less sore. My job is quite dressy so both a couple of bits (stretchy) to tie me over. 2 cup sizes has meant a lot of my dresses don't fit anymore!

I am exhausted I haven't been sleeping well and work is crazy at the moment, but not having any major pregnancy symptoms, apart from sore boobs. I regularly forgot I am pregnant, unless I am trying to find something to wear!
  • Well had my booking apt yesterday - all well apart from they couldn't get any blood out of me so will have to give loads at scan instead :(, I'm really not good with giving blood samples - I don't mind injections going in, it's the sensation of blood coming out - yuk. It is the same midwife that has dealt with me in 1999, 2006 & 2010 so it's great to have continuity but I am now starting to worry that I might be further on than I actually am seeing as I haven't had any true periods with being on micronor.

I've been telling myself for a week that it's all in my head but I can actually feel movement in my stomach - starting as bubbles popping sensation last week and last night was definite movement... if that's right and not in my head, it would make me 16 weeks+ - God help me I think I am going off my head here! I'll probably get to the scan next week and they'll say FGS you're only 7 weeks and have had indigestion. :rotfl:
  • Hello

Hope everyone is doing ok. Still having a bit of a hard time with morning sickness, happening at least 3 times a day now _pale_

Got my booking in appointment on the 25th jan which I'm kind of looking forward to but I'm having a bit of a pweep about! All the books I've read have said about preparing questions in advance to take but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be asking about... does that sound silly?! I'm still trying to get my head around there being a little squiggle in my tummy and haven't really got on to thinking about other things!

Not silly at all. We didn't ask any specific questions, we certainly didn't prepare any. I guess it's just a case if you have any general concerns/queries over the process or if the MW mentions something you don't quite understand. Don't worry about it :)

I think it's more of a case of if you have questions for the midwife, write them down because the booking appointment is a bit information overload and you can easily walk out without asking the questions you wanted to!

This time I just asked about the flu jab and my chances of a water birth based on previous PPHs.

If you don't have any questions then that's OK :)

I have felt rough as anything all weekend, and was wondering how I'd cope at work today and I've been absolutely fine at work! Being busy really is helping with the feeling crappy.

    Still no scan date. :(
